actually, those magic milk straws aren't that new... perhaps new to americans? they've been sold in the korean market close to my neighborhood for at least a year or so, but i think it was under a korean brand. the kids i worked with were pretty excited about them but now it's sort of old news and they're on to whatever new thing.
@capchio Yeah pack their lunch, educate them but don't suffocate them. Look at the school you are sending them to. Shop at a place like Whole Foods and find alternatives that are healthy for them.
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died for our sins, was buried and rose again on the 3rd day so that all who believe on Him will be saved from Hell and have eternal life in Heaven. Call upon Jesus Christ and believe on Him for the free gift of eternal life.
@damarei along with that, the magic milk straws have full servings of nutrients and vitamins with very little sugar. they're made to make milk more desirable and still sneak in some good stuff. obviously did not read the labels!
@damarei here is a link to basic nutrition facts of one flavour of magic milk straws: caloriecount.about.com/calories-got-milk-magic-flavoring-straws-i272173
16 calories per straw and 4 gms of sugar is not what i consider unhealthy by any means, especially when you add in a full serving of milk to go with it. would you rather have a sugary fruit drink that has 90 empty calories and 21 grams of sugar , or have 120 calories with loads of vitamins A & D & calcium in one glass of milk?
Uh, unless the child is deficient in those two vitamins (highly unlikely), then these straws are empty calories. Furthermore, they lack any real nutrition.
Then, you have to consider studies showing that individuals who drink diet soft drinks (which are 0 calories) are more apt to have poorer outcomes.
Do you really think teaching a child that everything should taste like chocolate and sweets is a good thing, regardless of the low calorie count?
@marginator007 Instead of looking at the nutrition facts you really really have to look at the ingredients. That should always be the first thing you look at if you are truly trying to make any sort of health change.
@Mariolover24 Excess sugar does and can kill ....when a diabetic has excess sugar in their blood stream they can go into an induced coma which could lead to death
@Mariolover24 Haha, sugar does kill. Brushing your teeth on a regular basis doesn't always help either depending on how much your consuming of the refined/processed stuff.
@damarei No he is a taster. Not read-the-nutrition facts. Anyways, he doesn't seem like the kind of guy to care much about the nutrition aspects of a product. Sorry if someone already replied to this, I didn't feel like reading through the comments.
I've never heard of any of these, except the juicy juice, and i live in america

Carbonated beverages stops your body from absorbing calcium. How about getting your kids used to simple foods without fancy packaging.
