Good grief....the lady is just giving a tutorial on how one "might" go about decorating a tree and yet people are slamming her for this and that...IF you dont like her design or the way she teaches...THEN DONT WATCH! Problem solved....
I've always wanted a chic, elegant Christmas tree with matchy ornaments, but my dad won't have that. He always has to hang the mismatched ornaments with sentimental value. I like them both, but I kind of want a Christmas like this one, just one, for the experience.
im from Taiwan and Ive been worried about a christmas party that my class is holding cuz im in charge of decorating the whole venue, including the christmas tree, this really helps me alot since i have no idea how to make it pretty and not messy, thanks!
found this very helpful explanation, tho would like to have seen other trees done. I did not have christmas trees growing up and now have a good husband and little children and want to know how to decorate a tree we can all enjoy. we have lovely decorations, but i had no idea what the order might be or how to make it work together. so thanks.
every year we buy our kids a new ornaments because when I got married my husband and I had to start from scratch, New ornaments and star topper etc. So we bought our children a new ornament every year and put their name and the year. So they would have something to put on their tree when they got married. In the beginning we used the gold ones we got at the Wal-mart jewery department. They would engrave the names. Wal-mart stopped. So we started using other ones that are not breakable
i don't care much for the sterilised process this video makes of decorating your tree. Traditionally Christmas is a time for sharing, laughter and family, and decorating your brand new tree with your loved ones is one of the most special parts of Christmas. It is not a time to call in professional designers, the best trees are not the ones which look the best, but the ones which have been given the love and attention that we all appreciate at this time of year.
@MotorheadBishop I agree. Those people who try to boil. it all down to a science end up creating dull and dead and down right disturbingly chintzy trees. One needs to let the hand of god intervene, meaning that the "rational" side of the mind should not be involve. You let things happen by chance. If you see a nice ornament, you buy it, no matter the color.
actually if you have an artificial tree you should light each section as you put it together from trunk to end of branch back to trunk of tree then move to the next branch...most trees depending on the thick/fullness of the tree should have 100 lights per foot..so if its 6 foot then 600 lights etc...
i knew ornaments was after lights! my sister INSISTED it was garland!! but garland is supposed to be like the "topping" right? it goes on last (before the star)
UM any colors are great christmas tree colors actually...i mean if you are going for "traditional" colors then it would be red green and white..with silver or gold accents....but its the tase or selection of each person..in my business i tell people to give me a budget and a color scheme then i go from there! and as for the black decorations... you probably have not seen it done in an elegant or non trashy way : )
Wrong! PROFESSIONAL tree designers always light the light from the bottom up (so the cords are set near the bottom of the trunk). Then the lights are wrapped in and out each branch, going upward when near the trunk. This method keeps the light cords totally hidden and the lights appear to be natural to the tree.
Exactley,I am a proffesional tree dresser , and you should always start at the bottom of the tree at the back, and wrap the lights around each branch (up then down the branch) this will give it a far more illuminated effect !,, Next put ribbon and garlands on before the baubles,, unlike this video. A good tip is to double 2 baubles the same ,on 1 branch for greater impact. wrap the bauble string around the branch for a more finshed look, rather than letting them hang free. Hope this helps .x
Generally when someone makes fun of the honest, sweet, peaceful moments of life, they have a storm of rage inside their own heart. May God grant you peace. And thanks for the great tree ideas!
There are people in the universe, u know, who don't happen to be Christian, who've never had a tree to decorate. It's a massive daunting task if you've never done it before and this video was extremely helpful. My Christmas wish for you is that you'll look around and see there are lots of interesting people outside your little piece of the world.
this is the internet. there's no way to read body language or hear inflection. there was no way, no way at all for anyone to know that your words were meant in jest.
@mimzywhimzy There is no wrong way, except when you don't like the result. The worst looking trees, IMHO, are the ones that try to use a "color scheme". They end up looking like some cheap interior designer did them.

the placing of the baubles is wrong, you should place bigger items near the bottom... not balanced away near the top.
