Spin,spin,spin,spin,....,damn I'm gettin' dizzy.Honestly i think these people would be good if they really tried to dance ;that MOTION might be good for flavorless People, see "Ricardo y Viviana - mamaguela" if you wanna see Real dancers..
UGH! notice all the negative comments come from colombians who favor colombian style. Of course they perfer Ricardo and Viviana who are COLOMBIAN style dancers....PB&G has clean beautiful lines classy costumes, just enough tricks to add excitment, and they are musical. They also have speed and precision... maybe not as much "flavor" as an east coast team. but this is a competition team. It is GREAT dancing from the dancers.... obviously they are world champions and top rated for a reason.
As a dancer for 20 years now and a trained judge, the lines of this team are far more pleasing to the eye. Yet, the live entertainment value of 18 people on a dance floor going every direction is greater. A production will outdo the small group if they are well organized. Columbians need their own category, not because they are better... because they are different
I have to agree that this routine was lovely to look at, it was fluid and beautiful, but frankly, I don't like all those spins, they bore me after a while. Just a note, PLEASE, there are no "u"s in Colombia, or Colombians, for that matter. The group of colombianos just MOVED me, I felt the rhythm in their feet, it was exciting and made me want to get up and dance. I'm no trained judge or professional dancer (danced as a kid for 12 yrs), so this is just my humble opinion as an observer.
In the ESPN comp the Columbians look messy. Their power is live. Each team has a different type of technique required.. neither is better. And their difficulty is only hard because they move so fast. Let's see them move just as fast doing PBG's style routine. Ain't going to happen. But PBG couldnt do their routine either.
these folks don't move their feet, they just don't feel the music like the caribean does...they never gonna beat colombians (first place team division).
No one can move their feet like the columbians... they make everyone else look slow in comparison. but you can't compare apples and oranges... both teams did great they're just different styles...
muy buenos movimientos!
