@R10spyderman , Thanks I chose the Targa because it was unique, it appeals to me that there are so few out on the roads, plus it makes it a very practical everyday car too. I was in Sport Plus Mode for most of the day, and was at the time we had the sideways moment. To be fair it was mostly down to the fact that the rear tyres were almost finished, which was the reason I decided to kill them of on a track day!!
@nigelpugh7 Track day absolutely the best way of using the last of your tyres, but in the wet obviously that becomes a bit more "fun"!
I've not driven PDK on track (other than the PEC - but that doesn't count) but really would like to try it one day. Does it blip the throttle on down-shifts when in manual mode?
@R10spyderman , that was the goal, use them up as I was having a new set fitted on the Monday. My OPC said they were well used, but had seen worse!!
I love my PDK Box, to be honest it does all the hard work so you can concentrate on (trying) to get get the corners right! I had a full day at PEC with a New Targa 4S, on all the circuit areas and loved it. Yes it does blip the throttle on down shifts, I think you here it a few times in the video. I am not sure if it does a blip in manual though!
@FrankypankyV8 , thanks for your comment. It did not seem very fast when driving it either!! But not much came past me, I let a few people past me so that they did not end up piling into the back of me in the damp!! I almost did it to someone else earlier in the day, so I was taking a bit more care. I think we managed a Vmax of 135 down the long straight on most laps, I was using Sport Plus on the PDK, so it was flat out in every gear!! I really liked the new Silverstone layout too, R500 Next!
@R10spyderman You will notice I let the guy in the F430 Spyder come past, as it was a race car with full aero with lots of downforce, so way quicker than me!! I think I go past several Elises and a Caterham in this video, there was a CSR 200 their on the day but I think he was finding it a handful in the damp, I never had him come past me.
