My brother introduced us to Moya's music way back '92, when he bought this LP, w/c turned out her first solo album. We got lucky I guess; he pick a good foundation for her music for us to remember!
Thanks Gawaine687, for uploading No Easy Way, it's my fav! Our copy got lost in "transition", meaning borrowing friends.
yeah, black night apparently was her fav from the new album. all of them are great, but my favs of it are "hidden stories" and "gone are the days."
as to "is tu amhain," no you didnt. could you send it? anything concerning the brennan family drives me nuts. they are the most talented of all musical people as far as im concerned.
i was just studying some of the Gaelic lyrics, so interesting. It always sounded to me like she was saying something like "Maya-moo conquer thee" when it's "Motham th cogarnai" and " Motham th le cormhairle" sounded something like "Maya-moo let it go now" heheh I wonder what the translation is? Gaelic is so beautiful and fascinating, especially from Maire's magical voice.
yeah, her voice and music with her own band and with clannad really got me interested in gaelic and ireland in general, so i'm gonna try to learn it when i get a chance. maire is to me a goddess of music, and a wonderful person, and is the foremost person that i want to meet that is still alive. she and her family have really created wonderful gems to music.
of all the Brennan songs on all her solo albums this is by far my favorite. Probably with "Is Tu Amhain" following in second (from the whisper to the wind water album) I've just discovered literally 2 hours ago the bloody copyright drones (from WMB) yanked my "Apple expanded" clip from youtube. This was an old Super8 fantasy film i made which used this track, so be careful. Youtube is on the prowl
Is Tu amhain? i don't remember that one. is that a bonus trackl? but yeah, this is def one of my fav songs of hers. my fav aolo albums of hers are whisper and signature. AJMusicgirl used to have some songs from Whisper for a long time, but those got deleted. i've tried uploading that album as well as some clannad albums, but for some reason they keep deleting those, and i havent the foggiest idea why. sucks.
actually the album i was referring to is "Whisper to the Wild Water" (1999) not whisper to the wind water, uugh, what a tongue twisting name. Strangely enough the track i was speaking of "Is Tu Amhain" doesn't show on any of the discography track listings for either that album or her previous "Perfect Time" (1998) release, though it's on both albums, at least the one's I have. So I'm not exactly sure where that track originated, which studio release album anyway. Very odd
probably a bonus track. d'you think you could upload it, or send it privately, like that button that lets a video you upload only be sent to 25 people? i'd love to hear anything that moya has done!!
