Cheers, no I haven't taken any courses but have always been into creative art etc... It's really not that hard to do, you already have done something with bluetack and that's a good start, you just need to keep going at it. I don't really have much time to do animation at the moment cos i'm doing an IT course but from time to time I do a bit.
yeah yeah but the eyes and stuff on this video are amazing like where did you get them and the hair its just amazing but yeah im starting like a little series thing now and i've been observing the really topnotch videos like yours and thought about movment and other factors
The eyes I got from a market stall where I live but I think you should be able to find those in pretty much any craft shop, ask for 'acrylc irises'. The hair I cut off a monkey mask I had lieing around and glues it onto the head with a hot gluegun. It's all about experimenting. Stop motion artists such as 'the brothers quay were well known for using 'found objects' in their animations.
Oh btw If you really want to hear some strange guitar sounds just watch my 'Horror under the bed' short I just put up. All the sound was made with my guitar and messed around in audacity. Watch with the volume up, or headphones on is best.
liked it. your puppet really comes alive. love that stuff. tried it myself, walking with an armature, its real hard! but you made a real good effort. like to see more!
Thanks a lot! I'm working hard in my spare time trying to build up some good puppets to make a film with and it is hard work building an armature that's actually going to hold up. I'm currently experimenting with using copydex as skin (its liquid latex) and i'm having some mixed results, I will probably have a new video up showing these.
Yeah don't worry about that, I know how to make tie-downs, thats what he's walking with there. But i've taken a bit of the black plasticine from his legs and straightened them out a lot more so he's not so 'bow-legged' and as i'm only using thin wire doubled over a few times his legs can't hold his wait. The plasticine helped add a bit of strength to the legs but it makes it a bit hard to make him walk properly, anyway i'll work a way through it.
This character scares the hell out of me, seriously I think i'm gonna make a feature film using him though. Well a short atleast. His legs aren't actually that short, his tunic just goes down to below his knees so you can't see the tops of his legs. I'm re-modelling him right now so his legs have much more ease of movement but i'm finding it hard cos now he won't stand up!
on another note do you know of any websites that i can get tips and the like from
thanks

Did you do the guitar yourself it sounded a bit over distorted, oh well

Thanks for watching, I probably did have too much distortion but I wasn't trying very hard to get the perfect sound.

since u got urs to work,i have a question.
i tried downloading the free trial and when i clicked on it to use it,it said this:
PowerDirector can only run under 1024x768 High Color (16 bit) resolution or higher
wat does that mean?!?
lil GM
NNG4Life 4 years ago
That means you need to change your screen resolution to atleast 1024x768 and 16 bit colour for it to work.

Cool animation. LOL at 28 seconds - because it takes a second to register exactly what that object is he fondles. :)
