hey i have a question that i really need answering. i have this board and im getting a AMD FX 6100 and people have been saying there's allot of issues with the cpu's not working right with lots of different BOIS's, do you know if it will work with this board out the box or is there something i have to do to make it work if so i would very much appreciate someone telling me what i have to do in order for the cpu to work with this board if it does not. Thanks:)
I'm thinking of selling off my current E8400 @ 3.6Ghz and XFX 780i for 1 of these and a Phenom II X6 1055T do you think i will see a good improvement over my current setup ?...thanks in advance
@exiquio Yeah I used to use MSI boards religiously they build some beautiful boards but so does ASUS they're both winners in my book.
I kind of like the jump to asus though and I don't see myself moving off of them for a while just better quality and haven't had a bad board yet from asus.
Can I OC the 1100T cpu to 4.0ghz with these mobo and become stable? Btw, I had heard that it have some issues when you OC the ram. I just want a board that can be overclocked with no problems, can you advice me about what I have in mind about these board?
@neverlast666 I've never tried overclocking the 1100t processor but as long as you have an aftermarket cooler you should be able to hit 4 pretty easily considering that's only about 300mhz away from what the chip runs in turbo mode with.
When you say "old dog" do you mean like 'Old' as in the past 12/24 months? Like for example - how long have you really dug into the technology of computer components?
@Vidia48 ok. When im thinking old Im thinking like 10-12. I'm envisioning the days of Tandy, Big ass floppy discs, and Telnet. Any of those ring any bells?
Thanks for this video. I've ordered the ASUS M5A97 Pro with a Phenom II x6 1090T and VTX HD6770 1GB as upgrades and I'm used to the old school BIOS - searched for this video to get familiar with it before it arrives at my door.
Let's see...SATAIII, USB 3.0 (though inconveniently located in the back), ready for Bulldozer, supports CrossfireX, supports 32GB of RAM...I'm pretty sure it'll be a good board for a while (for the price, especially). I'm glad I bought one!

Is there a core unlocker on this board? Have ordered this board with an AMD Phenom x4 960T, which can be unlocked to a 6-core with some luck.

@DMAFilm I grew up on computers when I was little and I remember those big old floppy disc much bigger than the standard floppy haha.
They were a little before my time but I was around when they were being used and I've seen them just haven't built them.

Shaky camera.... ouch my head. But overall you have some great quality videos. Not too much jargon, and plenty of 'Show & Tell'. A+

do you think the stock fans for the amd phenom ii x4 955 BE will mount to this board
dondon4720 7 months ago
@dondon4720 Yeah a stock X4 fan should mount on it only uses 1 clip in the center but it should do.
I'm not sure where the hardware virtualization is on the bios but I'm guessing it would be in the advanced section somewhere.
The board should last a long time but it's not the best built motherboard out there.
So if you want the best and the longest lasting motherboard from ASUS I would recommend the ASUS Sabertooth 990FX.
