The FAR/AIM states that a helicopter doesn't have a minimum altitude it has to fly as long as that ifnthe engine were to quit or any other emergency, the pilot could land the helicopter with out putting people or property that is in the ground in danger. He was fine with everything he was doing until he buzzed the street like that. An engine out right there would of been disaterous

However, if I was to speculate, I would say that the helicopter is a camera platform for filming stunts, and as such, I would assume that it has flown this section of highway previously, very slowly, with an observer looking for obstacles.

I attended the course with him. i must say this kind of flying will eventually get you in a "not so good situation" Know what i mean!! @jpswift1 Ha don't be ignorant. The reason Robinson is one of the main helicopters used for training is they are light, duel efficient and can be challenging to operate. Thats why flight schools choose Robinson Helicopters for instruction because If that can control one of these then they can learn to control any other helicopter. they are also very durable because they take a pretty descent beating from students and practicing of the autorotation manuever. Great training helis. very safe.
