  • :L this is the first time I've seen switches from forward to reverse btb that wasnt me...

I was hoping I was the first to figure it out that badass move :/

  • I'm picking up a lot in the legs

  • any more tips you have for turning? i cant even seem to grasp the concept, is it the same way as turning a regular weave? i can turn the regular weave like its my job so i thought this concept would catch on quicker. any other tips would be awesome. thanks for the vids.

  • totally thought i was too fat/not flexible enough to learn this but i managed to learn 2 beat weaves tonight just fudgin around...given i look like a goofy bastard doing it considering to get em around me i gotta move about twice as much as a normal sized person but, that'll change with time...still just syked i managed that shit....

  • BAH! So After watching this, looking like a fool in my living room for a day and getting no where, I head over to my ex's house and I get reverse behind the back down in 5 minutes and continue spinning for 40 minutes playing with the weave things I know trying to integrate my new talent.

Now my trapezoids, triceps and upper body in general hurt >.>

  • @overnerd Nice work, it's funny how the brain continues to learn after you've stopped practising. Also, you're doing a really good thing in playing with it and integrating it into your other moves. A mistake many poi spinners (including myself when I was new to it) make, is to learn a move and then just move onto the next move. I'm still finding new ways even basic moves integrate into one another.

  • Can this be applied to glowstringing Considering the diffrence in weight between glowsticks and poi ?

  • @StealthyShizaku Definitely, the weight differences don't really make that much difference, except in stalls, isolations and wraps (which stringing is better for).

  • trying this hurts, ill get it eventually

  • you are so cool and amazing, you really a have a good tutorial, yeah!!!

  • someone told me i make the strangest faces when ever i try this.

  • Dude I need a little more help on the forwards behind the back. I got the reverse down cake but for some reason I can't do forward. I guess I'll keep watching!!!

  • where is 28?

  • i was having so much trouble linking backwards to forwards but forwards to backwards was easy until i watched this, now i can link both ways, thanks =)))))

  • @langedelamort999 No problem

  • @NathanielEverist =) can you do a tutorial on the waistwraps spinning clockwise? i can do it spinning counter but i cant seem to get it down the other way

  • YOUR SO FUCKIN LEGIT!!!!!! O.O

  • @eirven Cheers

  • Alright I will. I just cant get that whole bike pedal part down it feels so weird when i try it.

  • You are amazing and I love how detailed your tutorials are its a big help. Thanks to you I finally got the Behind the back weave, airwraps, and Flowers down in like a day. I just cant seem to get the isolattions at all.

  • @MrSorrow696 Don't be disheartened, everybody will agree that Isolations take a lot more practice than your average poi move to learn, and take a much longer time to get clean and pretty looking, you just have to keep at it.

  • Why is that whenever you do it, it looks easy :( when i try this.. i get bruises

i guess i need more practice.. i mean, i need lots of practice..

  • @t0pyang When I first learnt it, it didn't look that easy, lol, I beat the crap out of myself, especially with the forwards. I wish I had've been told this technique rather than just trying to throw it time and time again until it worked.

  • @NathanielEverist yeah, why is that forwards are harder that backwards? i can do backwards once in a while but i never get the forwards even a little. Is it because i practice the backwards first? anyway, thanks for tutorial. You help a lot of people for this.

  • i have been trying to do the 3bt and i keep getting my arms rapped up in the poi after the first set of beats on my left side. but i'm gonna keep practicing, great videos, awesome location too!

  • that looks hard. i bet id look retarded just trying to do the 2 bt btb. i need new sock poi for sure tho. the ones i got with chains suck because it's not chain link, it's ball chain and they're not long or soft enough for practice.

  • great tutorial. i got the regular BTB weave down its not that hard once u learn it, but the reverse is really tricky i can't seem to get the feel since its opposite..

  • Unusual, most people find the reverse far easier, but nice work! it's well worth investing the extra time to learn how to turn in all directions too, far too many people neglect to do this, but it's so worth it.

  • lots of birds in your nabourhoud i hear them on every vid of you XD thanks for the videos, shame my english is to bad

  • ive watched so many videos that attempt to demonstrate and explain the procedures in learning BTB weaves and yours ia by far the best and you explain it so well i think i finally almost got it!

  • Thanks man, I appreciate that.

  • lmao I love your random rambles/rants XD

  • @Acolis well 10 months later i still cant do this.. i dont think im flexible enough i cant move my arms like that so im just gonna give up on it

  • Damn, well if you're still having troubles getting your arms at that angle, you can try having less-than-perfect planes that'll allow you to do it without crossing your arms as much. I might make a video on some stretches to increase flexibilty of the shoulders. I've recently started body-building, and as a result my shoulder flexibility has declined, so I can't do some waist-wrapped moves anymore, but they're not essential, spinning should always be comfortable.

  • It didn't take long at all to get the reverse weave BTB, but This forwards is going to be fun stuff! haha Thanks for the info! Check out my videos sometime...:)

  • Grr, I don't know why, but I've managed to learn the reverse BTB weave, but I can't do it forwards....and forget the turn! haha

  • Reverse is easier than forwards. Just go through the same process with forwards as you did with reverse, and eventually you'll get it. Just practice, it will take some time. And yes, turning will take things to the next level.

  • im gona have to have my shoulders stretched every day to be able to do this consistently. i have shortened bicepes and hypertonic pecs which leads to medially rotated shoulders, and its quite painful to keep my arms behind my back for any length of time.

  • If it's painful, don't force yourself. Poi is primarily to be enjoyed and be self-gratifying. Try to stretch everyday, but don't hurt yourself to learn a move, it's not worth it.

  • on and off over the past month since i got my pois i've tried to slowly figure this move out. i knew i wasn't experienced enough while trying it but it can't hurt. I've picked up quickly on everything else and after watching your video in 5 minutes i got the 2-beat behind the back. Thanks a lot for the help man. I'm halfway through the video and hopefully by the end i'll have the three beat. keep up the good work. looks like you live in a beautiful place.

  • Glad to hear I helped, and yes, I'm fortunate enough to live in a lovely area.

  • hella i just learned it thanx to your vid the three beat was killin me ha ha thanx buddy were do you live the sceanery is beautiful

  • Glad to hear I helped man, I live in a place called Ferny Creek, which is on top of the Dandenong Ranges, which are covered in national park and located on the far east outskirts of Melbourne city, Australia. You can usually see the city in the top right of the picture, but the camera's adjustment to the sun meant it's too over-exposed to see. Good luck with your poi/stringing and I hope to see some videos from you up soon dude.

  • as soon as i get a camera ill have some vids

  • man this move is botherin me for ageees..i ll try and do it as you say and den ill see if it works..cos rly its annoyin me

  • I LOVE YOU!!!

(...in a very manly and hetrosexual kind of way)

  • Hi Nathaniel!

I can do it!!!! Im very happy, but not all the variations... but soon!

    Thank you very much!!!

    :-D

  • Fantastic! I'm very glad you can, and you're right, the variations will come soon, once you get the basic pattern down, the rest isn't as hard.

  • i understand now thx i see why its easy in reverse

  • Awesome tutorial Nathaniel. This helped me understand it tons.

  • Nice tutorial. :P

  • Great tutorial!!!! You have a nice way to show the movements. Thanks a lot for all the videos! I will try!
