What kind of mega Christian parents did you have. How often did your parents make you go to church due to bloody games? I can't imagine that happening to anyone!
I've only played the original on the Turbografx one time when I was a kid at a friend's house. I've since tried to find them, but they're super expensive.
From what I've heard out of the 2 systems, the SNES does voice way the hell better the the Genesis! Compare TMNT IV: Turtles in Time to TMNT: Hyperstone Heist and you'll see what I'm talking about. Both games use the same music, voice and sound.
Well I can't resist nitpicking but no, beat em ups was not that big a genre on the genesis even though sor/splatterhouse were very popular. The genre with most games was probably the shoot em up: musha aleste, thunder force 2-4, gaiares are all classics imho.
i don't believe it was an arcade game. i never saw it in any arcade i played in. seems strictly for the genesis. maybe it was, and my mind is a bit cloudy.
i have an old school PIRATES hat. i hope someday they become a contender again. maybe SEGA lacked confidence in their own hardwared. ge, imagine if they trusted their hardware as much they did their software.
I hope the Pirates become contenders again also, being a longtime fan. It's just after 16 consecutive losing seasons with management trading away all of your good players as soon as they ask for money. A fan tends to lose hope after awhile. I mean they traded away Jason Bay, but instead of just picking up Manny, they did a 3 way trade and got nothing in return. UGHH!! -Ray
it would be nice to see the PIRATES act like they're trying. they used to be a part of the buffalo bisons out in this area. for what it's worth, shouldn't they have what the milwaukee brewers have at least?
They should atleast be as good as if not better than the Brewers. It's not like there isn't a fanbase for them in Pittsburgh. When the Pens and Steelers are consistently fielding good teams, it's proof that there is a good market in the city for sports. I bet that PNC Park would be sold out all the time if the Pirates were even in the running for a wild card in July. Unfortunately than's often not the case. Sad really - Ray
PNC park is one of the best baseball stadiums around. such great leinecy with the seating and great view. my USA TODAY magazine reports that the pirates have a plan in place. maybe that jason bay trade was a part of their new design. i think it might be. it just may be a sign that the pirates stopped passing the buck and are holding themselves acountable.

Interesting fact, the PC Engine actually outsold the Famicom.

those toothy slithering creatures and that one boss remind me of "The Deadly Spawn"

Both genres were well represented on the system. Plus there is a grey area of the platformer/beat-em-up combo. - Ray

Ok yeah, I suppose you have a point there.

Actaully there was a Chibi version called Splaterhouse Grafitti for the Japanese Nes. I own it, it's awesome.

If only it were that easy to get girls to come to your house.
Today it would be like
Guy - I heard Matt got a Xbox 360...
Girl - What a loser

You're right. Splatterhouse 1 was in the arcade as well, but 2 & 3 were exclusive to Genesis/Mega Drive.

that advert at the end is mean to the children who bought it to be popular

wow i feel, overall, this that if you owned either system you were in good hands.

Agreed, thats why when we speak of winning or losing between these two it's only based on sales numbers.
