That Z31 wasnt originally turbo, it has chrome trim...stock turbo Z31s have black trim.so he musta swapped the crossmember as well, the na and turbo Z31s have diff crossmembers because of turbo location.i drift my Z31t daily.stock rear end with welded gears
@terrorist1o1 i didnt use any Q45 suspension components . the "extra weight" is about 60Lbs or so when compared to the iron block ka stock engine 9 Q45 engiens are aluminum) . so the weight isnt an issue especially once the battery is swapped to the trunk or back seat floor . the car handles very well considering . i havnt corner balanced it since the new coilovers. but its very neutral. most people think it would handle like a pickup . but nope. this was 5 yrs ago or so also . cars diff now

@feanforbeans . he doesnt check in here often , and i own the car. ill do my best to help anyone. first need a 90-95 Q45 engine( pers, id buy a running car for $1200 or less so you know its a good motor ) z32 trans and clutch , custom driveshaft, mazworx . c o m for mountstrans adap wiring, ps lines , headers. oem auto ecu works fine so no crazy wiring . youll have to notch the frame for alt to clear rail. crossmember needs trimming for ps to fit. bout it . its $ , but so worth it.
@SixFootDik . best rout is to buy a running Q45 90-95 ( 96 vtc was defeated). this way youll know the health of the motor , get the harness and plugs , mounts , ecu . then sell the chassis for a few hundred to cover the trans , the adapters and mounts , and headers is where the $ is spent in the swap. then you just need a driveshaft and your good to go . to interface the harness to the chassis , its liek 5 wires. you run the oem auto ecu . let me know if you need help . i own the car

@kylebucuk i make 314 whp and 304 lbft torque . which if you think about it , with a 5spd not meant for it , it makes more to the floor in oem form than an LS1 , once you get into 2,6,7,x, etc . youll obviously get more power to the floor. my theory with this car was to build an all nissan parts sleeper. runs a 12.2 1/4 mile now , with some other goodies to aid. wiki VH45DE . youll dig it .

well we made our conversion kit , took some engineering and some fabvrication skills, but its pretty straight forward and actually ends up about the same as a stock sr20 swap . theres minimal aftermarket support is the problem . then engine was in the Q45 , a luxury car . so there wasnt much use of the VH45 . was it worth it. ..hell yes. the way we did it, but if i were to have to buy all the components , pay someoen to do the labor.. hell no

your right, but then it wouldnt be nissan parts... maybe read into the VH45de , i think youll appreciate it more for what it is. this was the first Vh45de swapped s chassis in the us , gotta give us some props for all that fab work , not one part was mass produced or manufactured besides my clutch....this is all stock components and suspension at the time.
also , truth be told, if i were to do it all over id go LS for sure, theres no aftermarket for the vh and with an ls you never run out of options. weight is about the same too . the theory behind this was to make a sleeper using all nissan parts and to have fun , not be pretty , not go to shows, just to bust the balls of rich jerk offs..well mission accomplished, and when driven ( was my daily), id get asked 20x a day what its got. also , it runs a 12.2 as is..not bad for a $600 motor huh..

you can go with the Q trans, and or really any trans with the same diameter input shaft size . i know godspeedracing uses and auto of sorts , pain is , its little guys like me who have to do the R&D . id liek to try and rb25, G35 6spd , and an auto dor drag. this trans works best because its cheap , solidly built , deals with power well , and theres aftermarket clutches/suppot. also , i dont have a plate , this was before mazworx, all custom made, also , it uses a 300zx pilot bearing.
thanks, i really appreciate it , and no , its not a bolt in swap , you have to make some extensions forward of the oem motor mount locations to sit the motor forward about 2 inches with 4-6 deg of angle change, and notch the frame for alt clearance , and then the ecu wasnt bad, its hard wired into the oem chassis harness /fuse box for power and dash instrument signals, but they work and havnt had any harness issues..

the engine is cheap , like $500-$1000...any day of the week .... is it better, personally stock out the box , i think so personally..... but theres no way with aftermarket , theres minimal stuff for the vh45de , cams , v springs...bout it , flywheel.... stock i made the true 278 hp and 292lbft , after rebuild and 2* advance, i made 320 and 320....and i beat a mercedes s65 AMG... of the line to 125

Q45 dohc 32v 4.5ltr vh45de , as for the 350... kinda regret my choice , though its really fun , but theres minimal aftermarket , so i find myself makeing/altering parts to work , but it works really well , swaps about 4 yrs old now , first in thesouthern us to do it , and all was fabricated, not purchased to make her work.. but yeah , with a 350 , id never run out of goodies/upgrades. next time ... i have plans to maybe sell the car actually. only have 1200 mileson it since rebuild
vh45de ...this was with just a 91 engine , now its a 95 jdm bottom end , cp pistons , and ported and polished 91 usdm heads , 11:1 compression now. . pretty significant differance performance , and idle wise . just breathes better. , havnt dynoed yet , but id guess 320 hp and lb ft...

well we made our conversion kit , took some engineering and some fabvrication skills, but its pretty straight forward and actually ends up about the same as a stock sr20 swap . theres minimal aftermarket support is the problem . then engine was in the Q45 , a luxury car . so there wasnt much use of the VH45 . was it worth it. ..hell yes. the way we did it, but if i were to have to buy all the components , pay someoen to do the labor.. hell no

your right, but then it wouldnt be nissan parts... maybe read into the VH45de , i think youll appreciate it more for what it is. this was the first Vh45de swapped s chassis in the us , gotta give us some props for all that fab work , not one part was mass produced or manufactured besides my clutch....this is all stock components and suspension at the time.

also , truth be told, if i were to do it all over id go LS for sure, theres no aftermarket for the vh and with an ls you never run out of options. weight is about the same too . the theory behind this was to make a sleeper using all nissan parts and to have fun , not be pretty , not go to shows, just to bust the balls of rich jerk offs..well mission accomplished, and when driven ( was my daily), id get asked 20x a day what its got. also , it runs a 12.2 as is..not bad for a $600 motor huh..

Everyone uses the z32 trans with an adapter plate, The stock tranny probably would suck.

you can go with the Q trans, and or really any trans with the same diameter input shaft size . i know godspeedracing uses and auto of sorts , pain is , its little guys like me who have to do the R&D . id liek to try and rb25, G35 6spd , and an auto dor drag. this trans works best because its cheap , solidly built , deals with power well , and theres aftermarket clutches/suppot. also , i dont have a plate , this was before mazworx, all custom made, also , it uses a 300zx pilot bearing.

thanks, i really appreciate it , and no , its not a bolt in swap , you have to make some extensions forward of the oem motor mount locations to sit the motor forward about 2 inches with 4-6 deg of angle change, and notch the frame for alt clearance , and then the ecu wasnt bad, its hard wired into the oem chassis harness /fuse box for power and dash instrument signals, but they work and havnt had any harness issues..

its not a tiny car ... and as far as a chassis goes , its the best bang for te buck , just my opinion, but i know 7 days a week i can get one for $1500 ....id rather it over any Fbody,or mustang. oh , and the motor in it as you see in the video , cars way different now , was a $500 junk yard motor , lasted 4 yrs almost ..driven like this weekly...

the engine is cheap , like $500-$1000...any day of the week .... is it better, personally stock out the box , i think so personally..... but theres no way with aftermarket , theres minimal stuff for the vh45de , cams , v springs...bout it , flywheel.... stock i made the true 278 hp and 292lbft , after rebuild and 2* advance, i made 320 and 320....and i beat a mercedes s65 AMG... of the line to 125

Q45 dohc 32v 4.5ltr vh45de , as for the 350... kinda regret my choice , though its really fun , but theres minimal aftermarket , so i find myself makeing/altering parts to work , but it works really well , swaps about 4 yrs old now , first in thesouthern us to do it , and all was fabricated, not purchased to make her work.. but yeah , with a 350 , id never run out of goodies/upgrades. next time ... i have plans to maybe sell the car actually. only have 1200 mileson it since rebuild

vh45de ...this was with just a 91 engine , now its a 95 jdm bottom end , cp pistons , and ported and polished 91 usdm heads , 11:1 compression now. . pretty significant differance performance , and idle wise . just breathes better. , havnt dynoed yet , but id guess 320 hp and lb ft...
