This really hurts, may Allah(swt) reward him for his efforts. He was a true Mujaheed and a true Jihadist (striving for justice). You just see the noor/light coming from his face...Inna lilahi wa inna ilayhi raji'oen. RIP
Wow, That man was a hero to the afghan people, and he is a hero to the American people...I would be almost certian many people dont know abou this guy but they should...but he gave us loads and loads of information and did what he could to help the USA...RIP
The co-chairs of the 9/11 Commission (Thomas Keane and Lee Hamilton) said that the CIA (and likely the White House) "obstructed our investigation". nytimes com
I also remember president regan speaking very highly about massoud when regan was in office massoud thought regan was a great leader and a great man it was very sad to hear about his death the u.s. should have done more we should of listen what he was trying to tell us before 9/11 it could have been provented
I remember massoud and the cia field agents in the news and reading about it in the papers massoud tried to tell us we would not listen he wanted us to help him we would not help him all the facts were right under our nose and we did nothing
@friendlyboy there was no fbi friend of ahmad shah massoud after all this is hollywood just want to entertain poeple the reality was that fbi also wanted massoud to be dead becuase he was against interference of outsiders no matter russia alqaida or america.. he was servent of his poeple. RIP our hero
Massoud was the iron wall between those terrorists and suicide bombers and the rest of the world, he single handedly and without much support from the west and USA fought against international terrorist organization namingly the taliban and al-qahida. Now there are 37 countries including NATO and US in Afghanistan trying to do the same job but they are not much successful.
The atrocity could have been stopped. Even 9/11 could have turned out differently, but it didn't, whoever planned it succeeded in a way, and I just hate them (only the individuals) for the number of lives, innocent lives, that were lost during September 2001. What is the world coming to?
That Massoud guy warned the States about the attack, and he died a hero. Those idiots who killed him where just pawns. The world needs to get its act together, a lot of humans are behaving like wild animals.
So incredibly sad! Massoud was truly a hero! We Americans did let him down, but we've done a lot to fulfill his legacy in creating a stable and free Afghanistan. Shir-e-Panjshir's legacy lives on!
Ahmad Shah masood was one of a Million He was the unbeatable Hero of all the time, He always took the Worlds Enemy down No body Dared to face him, cuz they all knew that they would end up in hell if they would have messed with such a brillion Man of all the time Hope he was alive the whole world would have been in peace, I would sacrifice my life to him if God give me one chance to bring him back and take me instead. we love you Ahamd Shah Masood
Massoud was a brilliant military commander, and a true enemy of bin laden, bin laden knew that 9/11 would provoke some kind of american reaction and he wanted to try to destroy the northern alliance by killing massoud. i do remember that on 9/10/01 news of the bombing was on cnn, i didnt think anymore about it till a few weeks after 9/11 when all the journalists started reporting on afghanistan and the northern alliance.
Absolute answer. If Masooud was still alive, Bin Laden would have killed himself. But hey, that's not the case. I think Americans should more think about this problem then Mexican immigration. Don't you think?
So if the United States continues to lose our freedoms, they will no longer have reason to attack us?
United States was bombing Iraq during the 90's while ignoring Osmama bin Laden. The same thing is taking place but staying in Iraq and not going into Pakistan to get Osama.
Did you *see* the video? It's not just about Osama, bucko, and it's not just about the United States. (Besides, do you really think Ron Paul would go into Pakistan?)
Massoud was a very great war hero - and his memory is justifiably revered in Afghanistan today.
Very true about the terrible way the US treated him as an ally. The same foreign policy mistakes are being made today - look at the $30 billion dollar arms deal with Saudi Arabia which is a breeding ground for islamic extremism.
I had heard of this man, I read the 9-11 report, and it indicated that this man was very helpful. I wish we had helped him, he might still be alive today, if we had.
Come on. This guys knew al Qaeda wanted to kill him. Then he allows to Arabs with a camera to be with him in the same room. It's as stupid as it gets. You know what bin Laden did in 1996 when CNN brought their cameras? His people simply took it away. But somehow that didn't occur to Massoud. It's hard to save idiots.
It's amazing how we Americans were living in our peace and freedom...and all this biblical-type of terror was being brewed across the world...and how it ended up at our doorstep.
There is absultely nothing amazing about it. A bunch of people hate you. Not just Muslims. You are just so full of yourselves you think you cannot do wrong.
Sondano, I think it's time for us to recognize, now, that radical Islam is a threat to us all, even Muslims. Don't you think so? The US is full of itself and thinks it can't do any wrong, in your opinion, and so deserves to be hated. You are entitled to your opinion and more Americans than you might expect would agree with you. But, are you aware, yet, of what the goals of jihadists are for all Muslim countries and, ultimately, for the world. Learn about that and hate that more than all else.
he needs to be in the history books, instead of the no goods that are in there.
