There's nothing special about Marines. Why does no one understand that? A comparison that might do the dedicated professionals represented by this video some justice would be something along the lines of BORTAC or HRT. Some Rangers might relate to the arduous training and selecton.

They may train like the army (not regular army anyway) but they cannot be compared to JTF2 and Seals for that you would compare with South African Special Forces not Special Task Force.
You should be comparing these guys with SWAT etc... in which case these guys are at least 110% better as they deal with major problems on a daily basis unlike SWAT who sit in Barracks all day waiting for something to happen.

In such an unforgiving and extremely violent country, the training these guys (including other South African SFs) are put through is purely for their own mere survival. Even SAS and Yank SF troops have rated the training itself alot tougher than what they are subjected to.
Had dealings with the guys that run this unit many years ago. The stories they told... These guys are really good. Bottom of a ladder to the inside of hijacked boeing, aggresors killed... Under 10 seconds. And that's with the doors closed. Have a look at how difficult it is to open a boeing door next time you fly somewhere.
Recce do similar training that last for 5 days no food very little water. British SAS and american marines have done the course and rated it the hardest in the world.
Any Special Forces training has gotta shit all over the Marines. In Australia, my father witnessed two Yank Marine officers killed during training when in Canungra doing land warfare training b4 being deployed to Vietnam (it was just too hard for them).

These are Police, not Army :) South African Special Forces have tougher training than this.
This is the only police unit in the world specialised in parachuting into situations too.
