Happily the cop eventually got fired despite the cops union defending him to the hilt. Also, the female cop filed a FALSE REPORT claiming that she injured her ankle DURING "the assault" to her partner. No doubt she was angling for some nice long paid "sick" leave, but after she signed the FALSE report (a felony) and the video surfaced, she went to court and lost her police job and any future law-enforcement job in the future and cant even own a gun as shes a FELON. I bet she's REALLY "sick" now!

@tjsnaps I can't find the actual video but I did find a statement from the officer saying that he had a couple of earlier encounters with police and that he was reaching for his jacket. The victim's statement also contradicts itself. He states that there were no words exchanged and then later goes on to say that the officer asked him to zip his jacket up. The officer the fact he was reaching for his jacket made the officer think he was hiding something.
The solution to police brutality is to ACTUALLY punish cops when they go overboard, instead of the slaps on the wrist they receive now. If the cop who did this was charged with assault and battery and perjury (lying about the man resisting arrest) other officers would take heed.

We only get one side of the story here. We don't know what happened before or even what really happened at the time. I'm not excusing abuse, but I doubt if the police just decided to beat him up over the way he zipped up his jacket. He may have been refusing to do what they told him. etc. Not necessarily resisting arrest but failing to comply. Cops have no sense of humor.

I always approach watching any video thinking worse case scenario. Lets say this guy said F you to the officers. Lets say he was dealing drugs. Lets say he had just shot someone. Even given all those scenarios a police officers response should not be to jump out the car and issue a beat down. I didn't know beatings came with every arrest.

The solution to police brutality is to ACTUALLY punish cops when they go overboard, instead of the slaps on the wrist they receive now. If the cop who did this was charged with assault and battery and perjury (lying about the man resisting arrest) other officers would take heed.
