@sumyoungay Maybe its the appeal of her looking real, as opposed to a spray tanned silicone filled brain dead zombie of these days i agree, but at the same time image has been important for pop music since the days of elvis, even tracy and her "non image" is quite clever.
@OrangeFuzz123 ... hate to say it, but i agree. What ever happened to the classy songstress that was part of The Jam? ... sigh, she obviously was got to by those f@#king big recording studios to record this tripe. You just know: you can see it's all forced and she's faking the smile.
I found a piece of material stuffed into my larry lamb pyjama case the other day. I made a circular cushion from it in needlework, and must have had an offcut left, which made ideal stuffing for larry's tum tum. The reason I am sharing this is that after seeing this video, I now realise that Tracie's dress is made of the same material. What a small world, I wonder if she got that dress from Watford market.
is this some kinda warpped lyrics or are you sayin "hey thats my maw"in which case that would have been much easier,,AND who's yer da,lets not leave him out UNLESS it could be contraversial!!!
mrddwig03 is definitely NOT the offspring of Tracie! Identical posts appear under other artists' videos as well. No idea why...drink problem, perhaps?
she did sing the house that jack built in 1983 she was also a backing singer on the jams last single beat surrender as well as 2 style council songs whos names elude me at the moment
Great to have the full song finally though I admit I kinda miss Arthur Scargill popping up halfway through the song (see the 1st version posted by Withergoogie). It's so 1983!
Wouldn't it be great if Tracie & Arthur could be persuaded to record the song together? Paul Weller could dress up as a striking miner and the other two members of the Jam dressed as policemen could beat him with truncheons in the background; might be a cathartic experience to help them get over his splitting the band?
This was a great pop song. Despite 2 TOTP appearances it didn't actually do that well only reaching 24 in the charts. I'm surprised nobody has ever covered it.
She got fucked by Weller ..............but so did Rick and Bruce !

Why is her voice always so low in the mix? The production is bloody awful.

Before excessive styling???? The eighties, the decade that brought us Boy George, Marilyn, Pete Burns, Duran Duran, Spaundau Ballet, etc
