This organ, along with those at St Laurens, Alkmaar; Grotekirk St Bavo Haarlem; St Michaels, Zwolle and the Bovenkirk, Kampen, are arguably the finest organs in the organ-rich Netherlands. In this performance I sense Peter ten Kate exulting in the ultimate match of a glorious Arp Schnitger organ in beautiful acoustics, with the matchless music of Bach. I loved M. Kate's interpretation, with one minor reservation - I feel the two parts need to be integrated seamlessly, without an obvious pause.
Great performance, but I think that there should be more low (32', 16') sounds...sounds that kind of make us feel the incredible power of this music. Otherwise, great performance. I really like the fact that you don't play it to fast...like many others on youtube.
