@knowtheonetruegospel Actually, Mormons DO believe that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Saviour.
Polytheism is the belief that WE have more than one god. Like Greek and Roman mythology, with a god of love and a god of war and all that.
We, like Paul, say that, no matter what other gods are out there, be they real or imagined, on earth or in heaven, WE believe and worship ONE God, our Heavenly Father.
@lindalds You are correct that Mormon belief in a plurality of gods is in that regard not unlike Greek mythology. It is intrinsically smythology, that is, it is inherent in the scope & study of the myth of Smith.
You do not know whether the god you call your heavenly father is the the God most glorious or the God above all gods or the Lord God Most High if you believe that he had a father who had a father who had a father in infinite regression, do you? I mean you cannot be sure, can you?
@Shulamitefire No, I said that that was polytheism, and we are not polytheists. We do not HAVE many gods, we do not believe IN many gods, we don't have anything to do with any gods other than our Heavenly Father.
We know nothing about any other gods, what they do, or anything like that, ONLY that there MAY BE other gods. That's it. All I know is that, for us, we have ONE GOD, our Heavenly Father.
As for, I cannot be sure, then in that case, why worry? I don't.
Who said "This year all of us [will]... study the words of the prophets in the New Testament in Sunday School. Time's up! If you guessed Elder L. Tom Perry, Apostle of the LDS Church in General Conference this month, you are correct! Christian? Yep!
For an in depth study of mormon scriptures, please see "Joseph Smith's Language problems," a talk given recently in S.L.C. It conclusively shows the Book of Mormon is a product of the

They don't believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, or Lord and Saviour. To them, He was no more than a prophet of Allah (God).
WE believe He is the Son of God, our Lord and Saviour. That He was born of a virgin mortal mother and a Heavenly, Divine, Immortal Father. That He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins, that He was bodily resurrected three days later, and 40 days after that, He ascended to Heaven, and sits at the right hand of God our Heavenly Father.
What sexual position do you think your heavenly father and the virgin mortal mother used to concieve Jesus. I'll bet they did it doggy styly. I always pegged your heavenly father as kind of kinky.
WE are not taught anything about God having sex with anyone, that's something vomited up by Ed Decker, anti-Mormon extraordinaire. Of course, he was excommunicated from the LDS church because he couldn't think of anything else, either.
Did Joseph Smith add to the Bible? Yes he did. He changed the nature of God and brought back the already finished work of the Lord. Several verses in the Bible say, don't add anything extra to this gospel. That didn't stop Mohamed and didn't stop Joseph Smith.
The "several verses" you are referring to from the Bible (Deuteronomy 4:2, Proverbs 30:6, Galatians 1:9) are all followed by additional information that God revealed to His prophets and apostles.
In Revelation 22:18, the angel warns not to add to the prophecy given to John, specifically the book of Revelation. It does not (nor do any of the other verses) refer to the Bible, Scripture, or revelation being closed. Otherwise, the Bible would have ended at Deuteronomy.
You are right about not adding to these paticular books. There is a big difference when you invent a new gospel that is contrary to what the Bible clearly spells out. This could be a never ending debate. The LDS gospel / doctrine has a produced a completely different meaning of Biblical scripture. Anyone could easily see this by reading the letters of the apostles who were taught by Jesus and led by the Holy Spirit.
What are your thoughts about the people of Menassah being found in India? This tribe has kept its Jewish roots for 3500 years and has been accepted by Jewish scholars to move back to Jerusalem.
And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called CHRISTIANS first in Antioch.
And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called CHRISTIANS first in Antioch.
Just a thought, did you know the word "Christian" is actually not even found anywhere in the Holy Bible anywhere. If you can find it anywhere please show me. That said, members of the Church of Jesus Christ base all of their teachings on the Jesus Christ of the Old and New Testament so if that isn't a follower of Christ I do not know what is. Why are you posting your comment like an Andy Warhol painting? Kind of cool but very distracting :-/
Acts 11:26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.
Hey you are probably the last person to respond to that but thanks anyway I got it shortly after I posted it elsewhere. People have been very helpful and they didn't insult me either. By the way I also learned the word "Christian" is also in the Book of Mormon in an identical context/definition.
I'd say thank you but only if you had ended by not adding the "Excuse me? Nowwhere? Your ignorance is showing." comment. By the way I still like your "Andy Warholesque" look pretty cool, really.
Please forget the "Andy Warholesque" comment it is late and I was thinking you were the poster not someone else.
Otherwise, try treating others as Jesus Christ taught with a little patience and compassion it goes a lot farther.
You will notice in my post I did state "If you can find it anywhere else please show me" so at least I was being open minded and actually trying to be polite.
So what are you thoughts are the multi-colored look of this vid? Distracting or cool?
The word "Christian is found 3 times in the New Testament. Acts 11:26, Acts 26:28, 1Peter 4:16. Now, the word "trinity" is found nowhere and the concept of it is only there if you ignore verses that tell otherwise. The "trinity" doctrine was not made "official" doctrine until 325 A.D., when it was deemed that God was 3 persons of one substance.
Mormons believe in a Godhead of 3 persons who are of separate substance (and it's Biblical).
Exactly insofar as the "definition of God" is based upon the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD and subsequent councils of "men" and is also not in the Holy Bible anywhere. Yet it is taught and unquestioned as being accurate although it contradicts the Biblical accounts in both the Old and New Testaments.
Mormons actually believe in the God of the New Testament as recorded thereon and not as it was later redefined centuries following Christ's birth, baptism, ministry, death, resurrection.
The New Testament was collected arranged, organised and Authorised by the same church which gave us the Trinity declaration.
Why accept one and not the other?
Has your church ever had the authority to go through all the many epistles and various gospels(up to 30 versions not just the 4 you know of)and put together your own New Testament?
One factor to tell that Mormonism is not Christianity: Mormons read from the Book of Mormon when they personally feel like the Bible isn't providing them with enough spiritual nourishment.
Whoa! You are waaay off. All the book of mormon is , is another testiment of Jesus Christ. Most of the time in church we read from the Bible, not the book of mormon, at least in my church they do. Anyway, I believe in Christ, and I believe only God can decide who makes it into heaven, so don't judge me.
Exactly, "another testament of Jesus Christ." Where in the Word of God does it say that Joseph Smith was endowed by God to add to the story of Christ? You won't find it anywhere.
Look, I'm sorry I even argued with you about this, so can we just let it go, and leave it at that? I have my beliefs you have yours. end of story. I am NOT going to go any further on this subject.
My beliefs are in the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the Lord God Almighty. That is all you need to know, do NOT judge me, and as I said this discussion is closed!!!!!!!!!

You actually believe in 3 seperate Gods and also in a mulitude of Gods throughout the universe and that they were once sinful men etc.
The Trinity was a declaration of the same church who gave us the New Testament because of controversy as to the nature of Christ.
Do you equally believe The New Testament is a collection of the wrong letters and gospels?
