I spent 400 for my WASR and had every problem known about them fixed within an hour, why would you spend more for "high quality" when you can save money?

Don't know about you, but 200-600 dollars in my pocket is a lot nicer than having an expensive AK, unless you're going for resale value there isn't much point in spending hard earned money for the same gun with a different name.

@pk1444 Not talking about price here. You can a SAR 1 in some places for about 400-600 in some places. You can also get a GP75 for about 450, that has a stamped reciever.

The only Arsenals that cost over a thousand dollars anymore are the fancy Bulgarian Milled models. I paid 860 total for mine, and that wasn't even from K-var, it was from an individual store. I am lower middle class, I saved up because I just wanted a nicer gun.

@ballisstix If you can find either one of those guns, where I live you have WASR's and Arsenals unless you have the extra money for FFL transfers to buy online (which are $75 here).

I was just saying WASR's aren't junk, not the best rifle out there but certainly not the worst either, it's an entry level rifle for someone who just wants to shoot but doesn't want to spend a ton of money.

@pk1444 Well I think it's great that people can arm themselves with reliable rifles for low prices. It's just that all of the gun stores near me mostly have Wasr 10's or Arsenals. They rarley have anything else that isn't bought up in seconds. I got Arsenal because I am OCD when it comes to my guns. I like the mil spec style that Arsenal goes for, the Chrome lined barrels are a plus too.

@ballisstix Yeah, I know what you mean by mil-spec, that's always a plus, my wasr's all have chrome lined barrels though, but they're a viable option if you have some mechanical skills and like to put a little work into them, otherwise you're better off buying an Arsenal.

Your spot on about the comsaline oil being gunked on some AK's my buddy Romanian TGI Sporter 75 was coated inside out with it . Took me about 45minutes and a half a can of Rem oil spray and elbow grease to get that shit out . Does yours have the famous WASR 10 canted sight ,trigger slap, and the bolt sticking when pulling it back slowly or did you get lucky ?

Judging from the "lip" on the muzzle, this is AKM, not AK47. Although one has to inspect it closely to make the judgement. Probably Eastern European made, could be any variation of the two.

Not really. Some people have problems after converting. The load ramp is different.

Pre-ban Chinese AKs are really good and made with thicker steel. They are closest in manufacturing quality to russian AKs. I'd have a pre-ban Chinese AKS if they weren't so damn expensive.

Even still, some WASR 10-63s, IE mine, are demilitarized AKs with different recievers. Mine actually has an X on it showing you where to drill to put an auto sear.
