@baller2895 i started at 27 off then moved down to 22 then 15 then full length... as you get bigger and bigger air the longer rope lets you get more time you have to pick up speed before you hit the wake so you can get more air and its a bigger wake the further back so you dont overjump the wake as much...
bestabac i wakeboard behind a rib (inflatable boat with solid hull) with 200hp and a 5cm wake. It is still possible to jump out into the flats and do tricks. With a keywest you could stick lots of fat sacks (ballast) in the back and your wake would be plenty big enough.
i have an o'brien board and i got it from basspro and i dont have a wakeboarding type boat im doing it on a keywest boat with a 250 yamaha motor and is their a diffrence in the width of the wake compared to a wakeboarding boat
thanks man! goin to the lake for the first time this summer tommorow! so excited =] just got me a new liquid force board...i know.. not to great but im still a beginner in a way..
my technick was wrong,, now i can jump wake to wake but somethimes i miss 50 cm how comes?
i can do a backroll, 360, 180, switch down,, sit down.. cheers

does it help to pull down on the rope as you hit the wake?
pashleys 3 years ago
u want the rope at ur waist. if u hold it too high and then jump. the boat will pull u horizontal with the water and then, well, no fun.
