  • Can someone post the recording of Chaminade's "Nocturne op.165" I swear it's the hardest piece to get a hold of which is surprising since it was her last piece.(1925)for piano.

  • i watch this vid every now and then to get ideas on interpreting this piece. still as lovely as the first time i saw it! bravo!

  • @kingjepoy thanks so much! I'm really glad you liked it! :)

  • this is soo goooddd! im learning this piece right now!

  • thanks so much! it's a piano masterpiece :)

  • Musica meravigliosa!

  • Very nice...studying this type of music in class...

  • thanks so much, this is a beautiful piano piece

  • You play beautifully.

  • thanks a lot!

  • beautiful ;) . Nice to listen to somebody in Youtube who is really able to play piano xD

  • thanks so much for your kind words :)

  • Best version I could find. Really well played! I'm using your version as an example to learn it myself :)

Thank you so much for posting it!

  • thanks a lot, I'm glad you liked it and it's useful to you!

  • Very well done !!

    So beautiful...

  • thanks so much!

yes, this piano piece is a real jewel!

  • You must tune that piano before you make such a beautiful performance worthy of publication. The A flat at the end makes me cringe every time I hear it.

  • you're right, I'm sorry, my Kawai was totally out of tune... thanks a lot!

  • i play this song myself, but i haven't played it for a long time. Hearing you play it makes me want to play it again. It's very beautiful.

  • i'm happy that you want ti play it again! thanks a lot!

Mi sono permesso di mettere il video di Chaminade "automne" nei miei favoriti! Da quando avevo 17 anni, questa melodia non cessa di inseguirmi. Dire grazie sarebbe poco!

  • grazie a te! in effetti è un brano davvero molto bello e troppo poco eseguito!

  • In 1949, I listened to this melody on Radio of the American Forces in Germany (AFN). But it was a version for orchestra, called "In Autumn" by a Herbert Spencer. This melody "haunted" me all my life. Only 15 years ago I learned that it was originally for piano and by Chaminade. It was the first time I even heard that name! Does anybody know whether there exists a version for orchestra?

  • nice done! listen also to my version!

  • Fantastic! I used to play this as a young boy - a very old and tatty copy which eventually fell to pieces. 45 years on you have inspired me to find another copy! Thanks.

  • What a great version and interpretation. Lovely!

I must learn this piece! As long as you don't need size 14 hands!!!

  • You don't ;) My friend played it. It's pretty friendly.

  • Beautifully played.

  • very nicely played ,with sensitivity.

Personally I would prefer more volume for the central 'storm'

  • coolness , most beautiful piece song

    bravo!

  • Beautiful, this piece is a little-known gem.

  • i won an eisteddfod with this piece when i was 16 (20 now) so it's fairly dear to me.. only thing i would say is make more of the melody in the con fuoco (B) section, because it's still very melodious, just much darker and more aggressive.. LOVED your A sections though, you did awesome things with the melody there.. thanks for posting this.

  • Thank you, This was my mothers favourite peice and she requested it played at her funeral. A very difficult peice for me to listen too, but beautifully played.

  • Thank you very much for sharing! This is amazing! :)

  • Thank you for posting this! There are not enough of Cecile Chaminade's piano pieces on youtube! You play excellently.

  • i love chaminade. i particularly love her concertino for flute. it sounds so french and romantic...

  • Thank you for sharing Chaminade with us! I don't know of many people who have an appreciation for her music. I came across an old collection of piano pieces at an antique store and purchased it. Please post more of her works for us to enjoy.

  • Sweet as usual, Lucamadeus. Thanks for sharing and have a nice day
