honestly, if i were in a band these days i don't know if i'd want to be signed by some huge label. i would end up feeling stripped of my own characteristics and molded into some creepy person being used by companies solely for the purpose of others needing something to aspire to be, something empty and soulless

exactly its doesnt even stop THERE though. Bands and even AUTHORS tend to make only a small fraction of their salary from the actual sale of their pieces. big production companies suck up all the money and artists and authors are left to get extra money from selling t-shirts at concerts and hopefully winning an award on with their book or getting it made into a movie if they're lucky
