@BoomBoxJakey hey, the same could have been said for all of their records since sung tongs, and what happened? they've been getting progressively better! like lymphoid said, fall be kind was an improvement on mpp, and their next album could be even better than that!
after 4 albums, i don't think it could be coincidence that all their albums are better than the last
@VulpinFoxyFinnland i hope so, but for some reason their new stuff is not as impressive to me, 4 songs are amazing but the other 4 or so are lukewarm, just my take on it
@sfdallator I just think the whole point of animal collective is that they will never make the same album twice, their sound is always changing. if you liked their last album, then it will take a few listens to get into the new one. i think mpp was their most accessible, and a lot of the songs were very easy to get into at the first listen
also, these live songs are still works in progress! look at this version of in the flowers and then the studio version... there's always room for improvement
