@ThinkPink866 Aww! I think if you can get a pup used to water or baths at an early age, it'll be a lot less effort than when they're fully grown. Still, I thought most dogs loved water! :P

@tarka I thought so too! He fell in the pool twice accidentally though and he can easily get nervous. My previous golden retriever loved going to the beach and jumping into the water so I know how much these kinds of dogs enjoy it. I recently got a goldendoodle puppy so I think i'll try it with her a lot.

@ThinkPink866 I think it's the luck of the draw when it comes to Goldies. My family's current Goldie loves swimming, can't get enough of it as long as it's not too cold. The Goldie we had before though did not like water at all. He wouldn't even go through puddles on a walk, he'd go around them.

@3Mudbone1 Late reply, but no, they were always carefully watched. The wiring going around the pool was really to limit the amount of water the dogs dripped all over the place.. :P

It always seems a bit strange to me at first. There's not many white Golden Retreivers here in America. Most are a light shade of gold at best. (It's also popular to have a Red, Orange, or Yellowish gold coloration) But over in the United Kingdom, that's the standard color. All of your dogs are beautiful. They seem to be having a blast. :)

my dog used to run around the pool barking trying to save me from "drowning" he even jumped in once when he couldn't swim and was afraid of water... now anytime i dive i wait to hear his bark and whine when i come back to the surface, i dont hear him anymore and then i remember he died.... i miss you bff ur always be in my heart.. :'(

@azkadelialover aww :'( im so sorry i know how you feel :( my old dog, Buddy, a yellow lab, had a tumor and died like 2 and a half years ago :( that was in the beginning of the summer, and i cried all day every day, and at night too :( it was just so sad knowing that i was never gunna see him again :( but now i realize that if doggie and human heaven are the same place, well see each other there someday :(

I have a golden and an indoor pool much like this, but she hates water (unlike every golden we previously had, they loved the pool). It's a good thing though, we can have her in the room in the middle of winter (live in the far north) and that would be a pita to deal with :)

@rozzkalingo I'm sorry, but what you say is wrong. Golden Retrievers are a breed for themselves, and there are also Labrador Retrievers in several hair colours such as brown, black or also golden. So not all Labrador retrievers are black, there are also golden ones, which are still different to Golden Retrievers. It's just a different breed.

@rozzkalingo What about the brown labradors? A Golden is very much different then a yellow labrador. Different head, different hair, different hair length. Also a black retriever is not only labrador, but can also be a flatcoated retriever. And a flatcoated can also be brown ike the brown labrador. And what to think about the Toller retriever? A total different retriever, light brown with white. There are more rerievers then labradors and goldens.

I guess we love our pets so much that it breaks our heart more when they pass away then perhaps a relative we might see 2 or 3 times a year. I love my English Cocker Spaniel called Paddy because he'l find somewhere to snuggle in with the family whether it be at the table or when it's time to go to bed he sneaks in my bedroom to sleep next to my bed.
