The cross on Robotnik's chest at 0:51. It's the Iron Cross, which was a military decoration in the 19th Century in Prussia, but the Germans used it as well at the beginning of the 20th Century. It was awarded to soldiers in the German Army, though in WW2 it would have a swastika in the centre of the cross.

The symbol is currently used as the emblem of the Bundeswehr, or German Federal Defence Force.
