For those looking for more edgy Christian music, you might want to check out Air1.com (89.9 in Phoenix, AZ) and artists like Toby Mac, Kutless, and some of the other similar artists that youtube or Air1 would probably recommend as similar. It's out there and playing. Don't miss out!
Wow.. It's like two different bands. This is ok but not my cup of tea ... Style wise that is. I prefer edgy and not so predictable. Good message though.
Great, great Album. I loved Steve Green when he was with Whiteheart, and I loved Whiteheart when Steve Green was with them. After he left and went Gaither and went solo his music was boring adult contemporary, just like all the music on Christian Radio today is just the same old, same old, boring, adult contemporary, soft pop, cookie cutter music. Never enjoyed his solo albums (put me to sleep) and Whiteheart was never the same without him. But this was a GREAT album!
Actually that was the same Steve Green. But he is not in this video. The lead singer during this video was Scott Douglas.
The founding members of Whiteheart all came out of the Gaither umbrella. Mark Gershmel, Billy Smiley, Steve Green, Dan Huff were all members of the band at one time.
I believe that there is a song on this album called Nineva or something like that. Does anyone have that song. If so could you post it please. I have been looking for it for quite a while Thanks
You know I gotta say this. Contemporary Christian music sucks now days compared to how good we had it in the 80's and early 90's. IMHO we even had better music in the secular department too. I let a 20-something listen to a Boston CD I had at work a couple years ago and when he was done listening to the entire CD he said to me, "your music was so much better than ours".
I think I still have this Whiteheart album on vinyl in my storage space. I hope I do.
That first album with all of them standing on the red chairs was their best album IMHO. I really like this song and also "Carry On". When I saw them at either "Celebration '84" or "Celebration '85" in Ft. Worth, TX, the band talked about their lead singer having some trouble with a teen girl or something like that. Was that Scott Douglas? Whatever happened to the guy?
Controversy ensued in 1985 when Scott Douglas was charged with aggravated sexual battery on June 30. Later, he was arrested for rape on October 13 and was dropped from the band. Douglas (whose real name is Scott Douglas Mathiesen) was registered as a violent sex offender as a result of these incidents and another arrest in 1992.[1]. Critics of Christian rock include this incident as part of their evidence that all rock music is a "tool of Satan." -Wikipedia
Thanks for the info. Man that's too bad. Sexual perversion/addiction is incredibly destructive and so hard to stop. Most people don't take it to the point of rape though. It sure cost him and everybody else for that matter.
No Steve in the video. Scott Douglas replaced Steve Green after Steve decided that rock was not his thing. The video was done after the replacement.

I loved steve green but Whiteheart got better with age. Scott Douglas was awesome, but he destroyed his career by one stupid act.

@DJay1288 You didn't enjoy Steve's solo albums 'cause you were a rock guy. I was too. But now, decades later, I see the brilliance of Steve Green.

The audio has Steve Green. The video does not. That explains the terrible synchronization and confusion.
2cleanit 3 years ago
That's not Steve Green. He was prior to this singer and was the original lead before going solo. This was indeed Scott Douglas.
signdeziner 3 years ago
Sorry, signdeziner, but the vocal here does not include Scott Douglas. This is the studio version from the album featuring Steve Green.
ericfrqrd 3 years ago
I meant to confirm that it was Scott Douglas in the video. Sorry for the confusion.
signdeziner 3 years ago
Yes the recording is absolutely Steve Green. The recording is the original, the video is not the people you hear...

I apologize for my comments. He may have just had a relationship with an underage girl, and they call that rape.

Thanks for posting. First saw this video on Lightmusic decades ago when I was just a kid. This song has always been my favorite from them.

Thanks for explaining the video bit on this (I kept thinking: that doesn't look like Steve Green...).
