I can not understand how anyone can (excuse the pun) set there and say bad remarks about anything that makes someone life a little easier, I was in a chair for 6 mos along time ago and do not want to be in one again, all haters go some where else and bitch
To all you people who are worried about the earth this and the earth live in a chair for one day and you will see what we go through!! I spit on you who say the earth will burn it has been burning for millions if years you dummies!! SHUT UP ABOUT THE EARTH!! you are not here long enough to do anything about it and those of us whom have spinal problems need ways to get to where we need to get just where we need to go. I am with the impaired!!!! Go get em dudes!!
Yes it smells a little, but the motor is intended only for outdoor use. Propane is not poisonous IF used indoors and the engine starts more easily on it. It also cant be spilled.
append:solar is not the way to go either. You cant use solar powered batteries either because too many diodes will heat up the earth surface like it is currently doing with the solar age. Adding this technology to chair would only add to the epidemic of global warming and multiply the sun rays then we will all burn!! All the trees will die.
Great Idea but concerned health issues. Too Many people use high performance gas machines which is leading to a more declining health issues resulting from pollution intake and killing off man natives.I find it to be a great idea but gasoline will be a issue. Not only because of potential health issues making the world more dependent on gasoline!!! solar is not the way to go either.
HI MY NAME IS JOE AND I AM IN MY WHEELCHAIR SINCE THE AGE OF FIVE DUE TO A DRUNK DRIVER. I AM 43 NOW AND I WANT TO BUY THAT WHEELCHAIR HOW CAN I GET ONE NOW? I AM ALSO THE PRESIDENT OF THE SPINAL CORD FOUNDATION AND I KNOW OTHERS THAT WILL WANT ONE. CALL ME AT 631-816-8687
... so you said it takes 50bs of batteries to equal 1lbs of gasoline? Not true. MAYBE true if you're using really shitty SLA batteries, but with modern lipo batteries, a 50:1 ratio is bullshit.
Well consider that the Nissan Leaf batteries weigh over 400 lbs and it's range is 73 miles, the best of any electric car, even crushing the Chevy Volt. The same car would no doubt get 50 mpg or more if it ran on gas. So 1-1/2 gallons of gas to go 75 miles weighs about 9 pounds. 400/9=45. Its close to 50. Have a nice day teabagger.
Have you seen the Ziger? I rather plug the motor batteries in then have to use propane, how about a gas power 4 stroke motor because I can get gas easier. I would get a seat belt or at least a gait belt for the next demo, for those who are going to want to move real fast.
I sure would like to see these hit the market real soon. I'd buy one in a heartbeat, mostly for going through the grass and for traveling a long distance.
My favorite part of the video is watching ol' Grandpa cruise off into the sunset, at the end!!!
If a person wanted to... you could sprocket it up so your top speed would be up there around highway speed... Then you would open up your market to those who didn't need a motorized chair... but were attracted to the high gas milage... Then you could somehow hybridize it... so while running you would be charging your smaller lighter batteries... which you could use indoors.
Can this be adapted for a triple amputee, missing both legs and right arm. Also regarding the price of this wheelchair please bare in mind that amputees are usually not rich.
You all have forgotten the most relevant issue - liability. All it would take is one person to get hurt and the lawsuits would begin. Why would any manufacturer, large or small, want that hassle. And using battery power will be too restrictive as far as ride-duration time goes. Now to use it say 25% of the day and manual propel the rest of the time, now you have something. But who wants to do that....just keep your powerchair!
We have them in Australia, well electric powered push chairs, but with the small front wheels and (no offence) weak frame compared to an electric chair, they are only allowed to be used in Hospitals, Nursing Homes etc. How would this chair go if it had to cross say a railway line or used regularly outside on roughish concrete paths? Thanks, Good luck with it!!
I thought one of your best points about this product was that it WAS NOT electric? according to your video "since it takes 50 lbs of batteries to equal just one gallon of gas..." this is ideal. I have been looking forward to this product hitting the market as soon as i saw it, the gas one that is. I am not interested in recharge times, carrying extra batteries, and a lot of weight. Im 19 and love to go fast. Ill write you a check RIGHT NOW for the one in this video, no joke. PLEASE SIR, I BEG
With the propane engine we could theoretically achieve about 50mph. But that is obviously crazy. We are aiming at around 10mph with the electric model so that it will provide ample torque for steep hill climbing and grass running. This is far more important to an ultralites mobility than high top speeds. Thanks for your interest.
Sweet take the govenor out stiffer valve springs rejet the carb this thing will go an easy 40+ you would have to be pretty crazy though mabe if you add bigger wheelie bars!!then make this thing run on alky now were talkin 60mph!!!when Im old Ill think about it
Where can you find these or where can we get more information on them? The phone number seems to be out of business. If anyone can post more info, please do. Patent Products Corp., Box 764, Forest, VA 24551-0764, (804) 525-1774
great...why should it be rejected ? there r bloody idiots out there who don't care about the disabled...the disabled people should be given rights not homosexuals dogs who just spread AIDS...
I really want one of these. Even if you cant mass market this product you could still build and sell them. They might be expensive but it could also be very well worth it for the buyer. It looks as though you already have potential buyers judging by the comments below. Any more information on this product. Great idea! I NEED ONE
Awesome..AWESOME....You guys need to market this. Most paras want nothing to do with power chairs. I guarantee they will buy these up faster than you could make them. This will actually save a lot of gasoline. For short trips around towm, you won't need to hop in the van anymore. BRING IT ON !!!!
Why don't you use propane or natural gas instead of gasoline, like a forklift, so you can use it indoors? Maybe try hydrogen so you have no pollution at all.
what we been waiting for in a very long time...will it be distributed worldwide if produced? hope so as i live in Europe and one of these would make me totally independent
any one have information about this wheelchair if someone need to buy it

no amount of gearing would make these go highway speed. 30 at the very best, but the power just isn't there for that in these size engines.
