  • teas wonderful. not sure of a placebo effect, but also should test the quality. you have a great lineup of herbs. gonna have to get some. got a chinese brand and it works pretty well. workouts are more efficient and the benefits of this herb are tremendous.

  • Oh yeah, I noticed you have what looks like the 8oz. bag of gynostemma. Do you know roughly how many tablespoons are in that bag?

  • @skizzie about 56, but keep in mind you can make 2-3 cups of tea per TB. so thats 120+ servings in an 8 oz bag.

  • @herbgardner00 I like to buy 3 bags at once and drink it all day, erry day, foh reelz. Good stuff, bru

  • Gynostemmaaaa!!! This tea is simply wonderful. I've been drinking it for three days now, and I can't say enough good things about it. I had my first cup shortly after it arrived. I was on my 5th hour of studying that day and after a cuppa gyno i was totally refocused and re-energized. THen I steeped a cup with rooibos and tulsi leaves as a pre-workout tea and had a supercharged workout. This stuff is great! And it tastes even better, I couldn't believe it. Can't wait to gynosteep another cup.

  • Yepp, the research is convincing, I especially like the fact that it has naturally occurring Fulvic Acid,,,and for me it makes all the smoothies taste better, great in combination with chocolate and Maca if you like the bitter side of the palate...

  • Brandon, how many herbs that you discuss in your videos can you take every day, meaning using them consistently every day, for as long as you want (adaptogenic), and which ones would you say are to be rotated and not taken together in one supplement routine? May be you can expand on it in one of your videos:-))

Also, are there any herbs that should absolutely taken on empty stomach and away from food/supplements, to optimize the results? This last question has always been a tricky one for me...

  • @Kirushka1 just recorded a podcast on this =]

  • @herbgardner00 Awesome! A lot of ppl are probably wondering how to maximize the efficiency of the herbs we pay so much for... I am convinced, that with the exception of Shilajit, which I understand increases the absorption of all the other herbs (right?), its best to take most herbs on empty stomach. But I just don't get enough empty stomach time to do it all :-))))

  • @Kirushka1 yeah that is a good point. first thing in the am and in between meals works great for me. black pepper extract and cayenne are supposed to enhance efficacy, but both comes with side effects so ive never experimented much w them.

  • @herbgardner00 Oh Cayenne, the spice of gods:-) I use this, along with a bunch of other spices with ALL the foods that I eat, I am a total spice junkie. But wouldn't use it on empty stomach...As for black pepper, a lot of companies started to include Bioperine in Tumeric supplements, for example, to enhance absorption.

  • @herbgardner00 One more trick that may be of interest, apart from Shilajit (do you agree with this BTW?), is using Reishi with a bit of vit C...which is easy for me bcs I take a pinch of Sodium Ascorbate in the morning with Reishi and Chaga capsules. What do you think?

  • @Kirushka1 yeah i do vit c w herbs sometimes. ive never really noticed anything from shilajt. what ive read sounds amazing, but the physical effects have never really stood up for me.

  • "Remember, herbs don't work unless you take them." That's an excellent quote.

  • Does anyone else think that gynostemma tea taste a bit like spinach? Kinda odd for tea.

  • @schnapes13 it does have a vegetable quality to it

  • i ordered some of this herb in herbal tea form off amazon cus i have amazon marketplace money. id love to try yours man. I just put a cup of water in the microwave for about 2 minutes. got teabags. it tastes bitter but its organically good if your into herbs. love it man. feel pretty relaxed.

  • Also, in 1 gram of ant extract there is 180 mg of zinc. If i take 2-3 grams daily it means i'll be taking many times the recommended amount. Is that bad? Personally, i haven't noticed anything bad from doing it. And, is the same if, instead of taking 1/2 teaspoon of a tonic herb extract twice daily, i take i teaspoon once a day?

  • Brandon, maybe this is not the adecuate place to post this, but what herb do you recommend for long-term consumption? I mean, not for years, but for 5-6 months (the duration of 16oz of extract). What things should i keep in mind in order to choose the adecuate extract? (what more benefits my age, maybe?). Thanks :)

  • @rkowwe14 Yes, please email me at the hyperion site :)

  • My first order of Gynostemma from Hyperion arrived, Im making my first batch of tea. Are more nutrients extracted from Gynostemma with boiling water?

  • @andrewcramer13 Hey Andrew, try it both ways and see which you prefer :)

  • @herbgardner00 Thanks :) Does boiling water destroy any of the nutrients?

  • @andrewcramer13 No i do not believe so.

  • @herbgardner00 also, should adaptogens like reishi, astragalus, gynostemma etc. be consumed on an empty stomach for full effect and absorption?

  • @andrewcramer13 I just posted my question and then noticed yours - very similar:-)

  • @herbgardner00 Great!(: Thanks. Cant wait to get mine in.

  • @billy4747 sweet! let me know what you think!

  • Can you consume the leaves after steeping? Because I like to just keep the green tea leaves in my tea and eat them as I am drinking the tea.

  • @billy4747 yes, you can eat them if you want to :)

  • @herbgardner00 wow i do the sam,e i keep the leaves in the tea and sometimes i swallow some unintentionally. It's pretty cool to hear that you can eat it without problems. Happy new year Brandon.

  • @rkowwe14 happy new year!

  • Let the gynostema leaves sit in hot/cold water for a long time (1 hour, for example) will make a stronger tea, but when you do that, the leaves can be re-used once or twice or they can't because you've extracted almost all from them?

  • @rkowwe14 yeah, try it out and see. ive done it before and still gotten a good tea the second time around.

  • good video, happy new year to all

  • @tsunamimachine1 thanks, happy new year!

  • Gynostemma is my go to herb, the herb I consume the most. I generally let my teapot whistle to let me know the water is ready and I find the tea steeps quite nicely. As a matter fact, I think I'll go make a cup... Happy New Year!

  • @hooperqi good call!

  • Would tincturing the herb extract the oil soluble nutrients left behind by the tea or is that not so important with gynostemma? I was wondering the same thing about chaga.

  • @HoFoShAo yes w chaga, and not so much w gynostemma. i

  • Hey congrats on revamping your whole site and labeling and everything!

    It looks great! :)

    ~

I'm glad you got gynostemma back in stock too, I just ordered some.

I've wanted some for a while but its sold out practically everywhere.

    ~

Have a good year man :)

  • @HimuraSword thanks so much! happy new year to you!

  • And a happy new year to you))

  • @Deizelcore happy new year!

  • I get best results by bringing the water to a boil first and letting it sit for about twenty minutes with a little more than three cups of water. Ideally, the water will be somewhere between 170°F and 150°F, leaning toward the latter, before adding the leaves. Measuring temperature is a good idea, keeping tabs on how long the specific quantity of water takes to reach the ideal range. Too hot or to much leaf, and you've got a bitter, disgusting brew. This stuff gets you *potent!

  • @Preteranimus yes yes indeed!
