i think it's ignorant to say that fan voted awards aren't important.

as a die hard Taylor Swift fan, I think that fan voted awards ARE important because it shows that you are truly a popular artist. I mean being nominated for a Grammy is still a wonderful thing for Taylor, even if she didn't win. I think it's early in her career and she will have plenty of opportunities to win academy type awards. But the fans are most important, without them-you're nobody.

and Taylor she knows this. No matter what her tactics were to get votes, she got them fair and square. I'm 16 and I think Taylor is a wonderful artist. Carrie Underwood is awesome too, I have nothing against her. But I think Taylor is better to her fans, THAT'S why she wins fan voted awards.

And they're important to her, so stop making assumptions about her career when obviously she's doing something right.

She sold 4 million CDs in 2008. I think that speaks for itself.

TRY to understand this. Fan voted awards are great.But if you cant win industry voted awards (Grammys,CMAS,ACMS), you honestly arent that important. Youre not. This means that the music industry does NOT appriciate you. How many Grammys does Taylor have? She has had 4 ACM nods and 1 win, only because the category was competitiveless. She got lucky with the Horizon award, but look what happened with FVOTY. She has 3 industry voted awards. Fans vote because its all she'll ever get. PERIOD!

You guys are VERRRRYYYY ignorant.Taylor gathered her fans, along w/ Kellie P AND Miley fans to vote for her (this,VMAS,TCAS,CMTS)&begged every week for votes on MySpace. Carrie fans vote as one fan base and still win Carrie fan voted awards (more in a grand total if you really want to get technical). May I remind you that we still won an award at this show.
