There's no mosque being built near ground zero. All they did was buy an old Burlington Coat Factory. There's another mosque even closer to ground zero that's been there for decades. @Pooternackle you are onley correct at one thing and that is that koran cant be compared with other ( well you wrote that they are holy books i dont agree with that) BOOKS. can you tell me the name of the man that translated the koran that you read. because i have also read the koran and i never found that its violent. in mosque i have seen ppl from other religions that are coming in and never thrown out.

@6s5h4a3d2o1w0 You must go to an ultra liberal mosque. The one I went to was relatively liberal though and they still threw me out. I don't believe you have read the koran if you claim to have no found any violent passages in it. My koran is from Hilali & Khan. Where is yours from? There is no version of the koran that does not have violence in it, even the original was filled with it (much more so than even the modern ones)

@Terbyn Well in addition to me wanting to test it, I'm married to a muslim woman. muslims are not supposed to marry non muslims, so that probably had something to do with it. She is also banned from the mosque - just another fucked up thing about the religion. But most mosques will make you leave if you are not a muslim, as that is what the koran orders them to do.

@Pooternackle Women also can't use the same door that men use or the same praying area. Also, if your wife had been in a Muslim country, she'd be killed for marrying you. There's nothing good about Islam. Religion is bad in general, but these guys kept it old school until 2011, which is just stupid.

Ant shouldn't really talk about hatred and what not. He hates anyone who isn't pure white. What about the mafia that italians used. Just b/c an Imam has a view, he's not saying that the US should be attacked, but is saying that the US supported actions which effected other countries. That's the truth man. If a person doesn't agree with US policy, are they not entitled to express it? This "Imam" was hired by presidents and does support the US as well but he can point out things can't he?

There's no mosque being built near ground zero. All they did was buy an old Burlington Coat Factory. There's another mosque even closer to ground zero that's been there for decades. The anger surrounding this issue is completely manufactured. The establishment saw an opportunity to keep us infighting to keep attention off of themselves. Also, the Imam clip they played was a chopped up cherry-picked version of the original. He was talking about how easily people's emotions can be invoked.

The penalty for muslim apostasy is death. That is the one violent muslim rule that I'm aware of. In order to better understand the position that all muslims are tacitly in league with terrorists who attack the US for religious reasons, can anybody post some additional muslim beliefs that are similarly violent?

@johnclavis Maybe you could flesh out your criticism, john. Personally, I think that just because many muslims qualify their disgust with 911 with a reminder of the US's transgressions is no grounds for asserting that they're all in league with terrorists. That's just a political reality - you get what you give. The one glaring example of that was our involvement in the Sandanista-Contra conflict in nicaragua. The US was found guilty of aggression in the world court for that.
