• yay^^ 1 week till i get my rats =D :3

  • @ForEverGamesCH so have you got them now ? i have 6 rats we had 3 we thoguth they were all males except from 1 1 of the males died 1 mated with the girl and had 4 babies :) my rat storie so far :)

    Memories

  • @kingcarrick Yes i got them (4) i love them and i can allready have them in my hands (:

Oh yes and they are all females 'cuz i dont want babies >.<

  • sweet:) i have 2 rats for 2 months but i think they dont love me yet like i want...i dont know why. maybe its just their age, maybe they need a time. hm

  • @TheSliciak They do need time! Especially if they are female. Mine hated me at the beginning, because they just want to run around and explore and not show affection to you. Dont worry they will come to love you alot :)

  • how do you teach your ratty to do that? I hope my Furgie can learn! :)

  • won-won-wonderful! Rat Retrieves rock.

  • I currently have 44 rats; none of them is this well behaved.

  • hahaha sweat.... ;)

  • cute cute cute! Well done!

  • Aw.. :3 That's cute :D

  • How do you do that? My rats would probably just take it up to their nest, and soon it would look like the bedding. :P

  • What do you use for treats?

  • 2[[[[[[7gj88888lllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll<<<< thats what my rat had to say about this video

  • so coool! very cute

  • what kind of rat is this

  • Now how did you train that? My rats know the "spin" trick and how to walk on their hind legs for a couple steps on command. I'm looking for new things to teach them and I'm not sure how I could start on something like this.

  • smarter than Obama

  • It's not really fetching if you hand it to him....

  • its just too cool!

  • yeah! how do you teach her to do that?

  • nice rat !

  • CUTE

  • CUTE

  • how do you make them do that?

  • that was soooooo cute..i have a dumbo hooded rat mix named louie and ya he would eat that chunk of food or whatever and then just pee and start bathing himself..(: hahah oh u gotta love him though.

  • Has a good body on it. Fair bit of meat. Probably go nicely with so asparagus and a chilli and garlic sauce. Hmm.

  • @Lewis1985 Rats are not food! What's wrong with you man?

  • @manco82 Food is whatever you want to eat.

  • @Lewis1985 No it isn't! Civilized human beings have no reason to eat ratties.

  • @manco82 Yet eating pigs, one of the most intelligent animals on the planet, is perfectly acceptable.

Might snack on a rat right now.

  • @Lewis1985 Food is whatever you want to eat that you can find/afford.

  • nice

  • pet rats is this america ,vermin those are mate

  • that is the one smart ass :D

  • Awww she's such a pretty little rat! I've never seen a silver hooded! very intelligent little girl! I have tried to train mine but they're not very food orientated soo...

  • very attractive rat

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOW

  • Que bella!!!!

  • never thought a rat could be so adorable

  • awesomeness

  • thats so adorable

  • smart rat XD

  • aw what a good rattie!! ♥

  • Haha yeah, actually I think mice are a little cuter. Probably just because they're so small. I like watching my rat though, he's funny!

  • Waaaw, SO COOL !

He is happy to have his reward ^^.

  • You should make a video on how you trained him/her to do that. I'm getting a rat (maybe two) tomorrow, and I would love to teach it tricks like that :)

  • @LUVreita u should always get two no matter what. they will die of depression, just mentioning that

  • @LUVreita you HAVE to get 2 or the one rat will be lonely!

  • @LUVreita u should get 2+ because rodents are social creatures and it wont be as happy alone if female but if male better 2 only have 1 because they will either hurt or even kill eath other over limited territory!

  • @oopsy444 really? you cant have 2 male rats... im ganna have a room just for rats is it okay to have only male rats if i have a whole room for them?

  • @AbbyIsMyWeim 1 they still may fight but it is a lot less likely and 2 i HIGHLY doubt u'll have a whole room 4 them and if u do then (and i'm sorry 2 say) ur an idiot cause thats HIGHLY unsanitary!

  • @LUVreita you need to get 2 rats because rats need rat companinship

  • I loved my rats. I miss they all so much. Especially my first one, mimi. She passed about a year ago and i will NEVER forget her.

This is also highly impressive, since i never got to teach any my rats tricks.

  • well they are the most intelligent rodents...

  • Wow, really impressing!

  • girl or boy?

  • how do you make this?????

  • thats cool!!

  • My rat would just eat that chunk of whatever - then find out where I kept the rest of them and steal them! I showed him this video as a hint on manners but he just trickle peed on my keyboard and went on his way...

    Great trick!

  • @VENKMAN88 :D

  • My last ratty (out of four) just went to rainbow bridge today. :( This is incredible, though! They're such smart creatures. When I said "rise", two of them used to stand on their haunches. XD SO cute!

  • This is very good, I miss my rats, they make great pets!

  • i love rates. my 5 rats died all this year :(

  • It's not easy when they go, 5 in one year is really tough. I haven't yet met a rat without a personality! Are you going to get more?

  • i am still absorbing the loss :( it was a small family. 1 mum and 4 kids.

i am sure it wasnt the last time that i have rats.

rats are just amazing, and yes you are right. they got a personality.

unfortunally the most humans dont know much abour rats :(

  • i just lost my panda rats :( its so nice i love it so much i cant forget it :)

  • I used to have a bunny who used a litter box and attacked my dogs

  • this is AMAZING!!!!

  • how have you trained Akemi to do that? O___O my rats runs away with all the stuff i give them ^^;

  • LOL?

    Thats funny :D

  • Aaaw , That's so cute! (L)

  • i have a rat His name is Theodore he is smart when u call his name he comes and when i let him rome around and i open the door i say im leaving and he comes rite over to me out of no where its cute

  • wow :) cool

  • cute rat I LOVE RATTYS THERE SOOOOO CUTE!

  • very cute video!

to those who want get petrats: do NOT get only one! they are very social animals who need pals!

and don't get them from a petstore!

the animals you buy there are PRODUCED just for profit, they don't get treated well, if they are not sold by the age of 10 weeks, they get fed to the snakes... DO NOT SUPPORT PETSHOPS!!!

  • I agree with you about saving them, but it's because most of the time rats from petstores come laden with health problems.

But, they're going to get fed to snakes, anyway. Snakes gotta eat, too.

  • cool

  • Awesome!!! ^.^

  • Is Akemi able to bring your shoes, too? :)

    Sweet!

  • yes how did you teach your rat that, i need to teach mine that.

  • please tell me how you trained your rat to do that!!

i need to teach my rats more tricks...

  • She's pretty. Reminds me of RUDDIN, our Grace Kelly of Rats.

  • very cute

  • very clever!! my rats come to me when i call them but i dunno if they would be bothered about fetching stuff for me lol, does it take long to train them and how do you start?

  • you've inspired me! I'm going to teach my mice how to do that.....if mice can do that...arn't mice just as intelligent as rats?

  • can someone tell what type of rat that is i want one

  • Norwegian Brown Rat. You can buy them for three to five dollars at a pet store.

  • Rats are supposed to be smarter than mice. I'm not sure by how big a margin, but measurably.

  • i say there is a pretty big difference in smarts with rats and mice. not that mice are dumb, its just rats are very smart. i find it easier to teach my rats tricks than my dog

  • My rat seems to be smarter than my mice. He can figure things out and likes to rearrange his "furniture". He also responds to his name "Rattie" and gets up and reaches his hands through the bars when I say his name.

  • Is rats much more playful and tame than gerbils?

  • Haven't had much experience with gerbils. Rats are definitely good pets, though.

Female rats are generally friendlier than males (though exceptions abound on both sides), and they are quite playful. Keep in mind, though, that this applies only to rats you buy at a pet store. Wild sewer rats are not friendly.

  • Of course sewer rats arent friendly :D I'd like rats instead of my 2 gerbils, since rats seem nicer, but my friends and female thinks theyre disgusting!

  • There is no difference in friendliness between females and males. It's just that female rats like to play and explore and be active, and male rats are usually more sleepy, except when they are young. They are just as friendly as females. To learn a rat such a thing, females are better

  • Gerbils okay but are really hyper-active. They move at warp speed and are really twitchy.

  • Rats are very friendly and intelligent. I'm not sure about gerbils, but they're much more playful than hamsters or mice.

I've had pet rats for years and haven't been bitten once.

  • Where do you recomend getting a rat? I've had only mice for years but now I want to try a rat. Are pet store rats okay? My mice came from pet stores and some were friendly and others weren't as much.

  • NOT from pet stores. That encourages the rat mill market :( Buy it from a rescue or the SPCA .. They don't lie about the genders and you would be saving a rat :D

  • Rats from pet stores like Petco are fine. I've gotten all three of my female rats from Petco and they're very healthy and smart. Rats don't typically bite if you handle them on a regular basis. Mice aren't as smart as rats and will often forget who you are, or not care, hence the biting.

  • I just bought a little male rat from Petco two days ago (all they had were males). He seemed pretty friendly after holding him at the store for about 10 minutes. He just pooped on me a lot! lol. I've been holding him quite a bit since I got him but he seems to think I'm his toilet every time I pick him up. He is fairly calm with me though and lets me pet him.

  • Rats unload when they're scared. It'll take a little while for him to get used to you. Just make sure you handle him at least once a day so he can "get to know you" better. I've also noticed that male rats tend to poop on people more than female rats... not sure if that's true with all rats or not.

  • you can correct that by putting him back in his cage when he poops on you without a treat and if he doesn't poop at all while you have him out when you put him back in the cage give him a treat they will usually catch on! good luck!

  • Hi, you should get him a friend, as rats are extremely sociable creatures and get very lonely!! And no, human company isn't a substitute for rat company..

  • You're going to LOVE getting a rat!

I suggest you try to rescue a feeder rat!

And make sure you get two!

I had only one... he was reallly depressed. So I got him another one and there was a drastic positive change in his personality!

If you have any questions about rats... feel free to message me :)

  • Hey killkayla if you want to learn fetch with you're rat go to my channel and in my friends box go check out my friend Master of the Midgets channel, she trains her rats amazingly well and has instructional vids on how to train rats (including fetch)

  • Cute trick! :D

  • please help me, I ned to teach my new pet rat to do some tricks for my psychology class, I want to teach him how to fetch but i'm not exactly sure how to go about doing it

  • Gosh, my rat just does this trick without being taught. She brings things out from under the couch for me. I'm sure there is a way to teach it, though. And you just need to get really close with your rat friend for them to follow your around everywhere/come when you call. It takes them about a week before they do that if you spend lots of time with them.

  • Aww that sounds so cuute <3

    Want one ~!!

  • Give a rat lots of attention and they'll be your best friend forever!

  • my mom was sitting on the couch 1ce w/ her leg on the coffee table and the rat was under the couch cushen (long story) well, she cam out, used my mom's leg as a bridge, stle a cigerett from the ash try, and ran under the cushen w/ it, later, when we were cleaning there, we never found it, lol, maybe she ate it.

  • Your rat most likely enjoys collecting things made of paper. Some rats like certain items, like plastic, paper, or cloth. It's for no real reason why they like that stuff, sort of like how humans like diamonds and things.

  • Kilkayla, watch the rat basketball tutorila by the same youtube user, natasebem. Now, as you saw, the rat, when it picked up the ping pong ball, dropped it into the tupperware. same concept here, get close to your rat and when he/she picks up the fetch toy/material, it will drop it into your hand if you hold it out close enough. give him a treat, then start working a distance from there. When he picks it up and doesnt drop it into your hand, dont give him a treat! so it knows to drop in ur hand

  • Aww. I wish my rats fetched. They just take and run lol.

  • rats like to eat cerael

  • cute! =)

  • awsome how you do that my rats doesn't do that things

  • lol! I thought only dogs could do that!

  • that's adorable =)

  • wow thats really cool what sort of things can he fetch and howd u teach him?

PS what treats did u give it

  • How do you teach a rat to come to u?

  • how do teach ur rat to do that mine only comes to me wen i call her n even then you have to have treats or she runs off again lol

  • what a cutie! my boys would be like "F you mom this scrabble piece is MINE!" and run away with it, never to be seen again. and knowing them, they'd take a vowel piece just to be extra naughty ;)

  • you let your kids swear at you?

  • LOL! roflmao!

  • omg! rofl!

  • That was awesome. They are so very smart....

  • Awesome. Iwish mine would do that.

  • this is freakin cool

  • you do know to much corn can cause cancer in rats,, thats what the vet told me

  • thats cute(:

  • Aww, that's nice :)

  • Very Good!! (:

  • Adorable <3

    I don't think I would ever be able to teach my rat that D;

  • how cute!!

  • So cool.

  • how do you teach him that? Wow!

  • This trick is fairly difficult to teachas you need to have a rat who will pick up the scrabble piece on their own, and drop it when you put your hand in front of them. I haven't been able to teach any other rat to do this. basketball is much easier, and soon I will be making a video to show how that trick is done. Sorry it took me so long to respond!

  • That is so cute. what treat are you feeding him/her? Im trying to train my 2 girls but cant find a suitable treat that is healthy / small enough so they eat it there and not run off and hide it. Im using rice krispies but they get bored of them

  • sweetcorn( from a tin) my ratties love it.

  • I feed my rats pieces of yogies as treats. You can get yogies at most pet stores and if you break one up into a few pieces (each yogie is about the size of a chocolate chip) it makes a perfect treat for teaching tricks. sorry it took me so long to respond!

  • too cute

  • wow theyre smart

  • wow very pretty rat. would you say females or males learn faster?

  • I haven't noticed any difference in gender. Sorry it took me so long to respond!

  • would u tell me what food u r useing? creamcheese?
