thanks for the songs from 'santan' .

    madhu sudhan

  • Perfect Dattaraam stamp on the song. He produced these love duets with Manna De and Lata during that era. Whatever happened to Kamini Kadam? Thanks geetateet ji

  • @nandu1f

about a decade or so ago, Kamini Kadam passed away. I came to know in later years.

Her other films talaq and School Master also has very good songs.

She was an "exceptionally good" actress.

  • @derubala Mighty thanks for your information on Kamini Kadam, derubalaji. You apparently know about the songs from Talaq. Can you help me find the one I am reminded of, but cannot remember the line. I think it was a Talat number or may be Manna De's. It was a most melodious song

  • @nandu1f Di, Kamini ji also acted in ''Miya Bibi Raji.'' ''Chodo chodo mori Baiya from M B.R. is very popular, and my fav. song, sung by Suman K.

    School Master's ' ''O dildar,bolo ekbar also i love. and ..

from Santan my fav. is ''KAHETA HAI PYAR MERA,O MERE LADLE.''

I am sure you know all these songs. Sarla.

  • @jasbongy I know "O dildar, bolo ekbar". I will check on the other songs. By the way, at 0:57 count, I think the scene is at the water canal that goes from Lonavla/Khandala on the way to the Khopoli power station. During summer vacation from Bombay we boys used walk the canal walls all the way from Lonavla past Khandala. Not sure if the bunglows are at Khandala or Mahabaleshwar? All the same the charm of the black and white scenery in these movies feels so soothing. Why is that so?

  • @nandu1f Is it not beautiful to remember our growing period while listening to such melodious songs, we suddenly remember the places where we used to visit.

Today on amrtvani2's upload of film ''Honeymoon.'' and song '' Mere khawabon mein.'' i was so happy to listen my fav. song and see Mahableshwar where i went with my family sooo many times while growing up in Mumbai. With respect. Sarla.

  • @jasbongy Oh Mahabaleshwar! Used to be verdant green. "Mere khawabon me' khayalo me'.." song has great backdrop of the lake there. For me one of the best picturised song by the lake is "Pichhe' pichche' aakar". At the end of the song in a panoramic shot, Dev and Kalpana are walking along the winding road by the lake with most beautiful "rolling" music. So enchanting and soothing for me. That is the romance of Mahabaleshwar that I fondly remember, although I was too young for romance then.

  • @nandu1f And nandu1f ji we should not forget ''Ankho mein rang kayoo aaya ,''

duet of Lata ji and Mukesh ji from film ''Ek Phool Char Kante.'' with graceful Waheeda ji and Sunil Dutt ji.'' and so many other songs filmed at Mahableshwar. W.R. Sarla.

  • @nandu1f

    here both (talat/dey)...songs...

    I hope this help

the song: "O dil daar bolo ek baar" by Lata/talat,

    film: School Master (1959)

other song: "Bolo tum kaun ho" By asha-manna dey

    talaq (1958)..

you may google or search on utube..

  • @derubala Good leads. Especially, "Bolo tum kaun ho" is an absolute masterpiece, and very well choreographed. The setting for the song in the mountains is so perfect for the shepherd couple's love song. Besides, Kamini's "shy" acting wins me over, I don't know why.
