"Equalitist" might work, but the term "Femenist" has gone down the road of "getting even" instead of "getting equal" and are adhearing more and more to the "SCUM Manifesto".
I am against men and women treated badly... differently, for following their heart. But just AS important is ALLOWING people to do what they want without being pissed on by either the side of "chauvinistic pigs" or "chauvinistic Feminists".
I was mildly convinced .. until you said you couldn't stand "really really bitchy, queeny, whiny behavior" you used two pejorative female roles to help define the behavior you don't like, and think it's a problem that people "associate them with femininity"? Hello? Are you listening to yourself?
@kizzume bitch and queen? People are going to associate womanhood with those titles no matter what - the point I'm making is that they shouldn't be used in the first place
@misterkaira Why? Bitchy and queeny are descriptions of behavior that don't really have any other words that mean the same thing. What words should I use in their place?
@kizzume Words that aren't inherently sexist.. your video isn't going to give new meaning to words that have been sexist for generations, it was instead offensive and flawed
@misterkaira As I said, what words should I use? If you can't offer any alternate words, what you're saying is hot air.
The point of my video was not to give new meaning to words. I'm not trying to change any definitions. You still fail to see my point, and that is that people shouldn't ONLY think the negative aspects of femininity when they think of femininity.
And should guys get all up-in-arms for being called a dickhead?
and yes, i think it's fine if a dude gets offended for being called a dick - although this is a gender neutral term and it's not sexist nor uncommon to call a woman a 'dickhead', where calling a man a 'bitch' means something other than calling a woman a 'bitch'
@misterkaira I wish you hadn't deleted your other post. I don't know why I can't speak against the stigmatization of femininity while also speaking against the negative stereotypes of femininity. I don't know why those things have to clash.
And "dick" is not any more gender neutral than "bitch" is.
@kizzume I deleted it because I tried to do something in the script, but I'm retarded and youtube isn't my usual stomping ground. I'm just trying to point out a flaw in your logic - you should take a women's studies class, that's not an insult but constructive criticism - I appreciate your intent in making this video. The point I was making was that you yourself were saying that you can't stand bitchy or queeny people, which is sexist because those terms are sexist.
@misterkaira I'll agree that yes, the terms are sexist, but they're also the quickest way of describing a particular behavior. I work hard at saying a lot without having to use a lot of words, without having to ramble very much, but I will take into consideration in the future that those words are sexist.
@kizzume and perhaps the gender neutrality of "dick" is subjective; however the fact that I can call my female friends a "dickhead" without insulting their sexuality but can't call my male friends "bitch" without insulting their masculinity is why the two insults are not equal in terms of gender neutrality.
@kizzume to clarify, I think you make some valid points in the video; but you say what you don't like from either gender is "bitchy, queeny, whiny behavior" You associate negative behavior with stigmatized female roles (there are other words to describe unfavorable behavior; pretentious, pushy, overbearing, etc.) You continue, saying its bad to associate these roles with femininity. Your pejorative use of "Bitch" and "queen", (which by official definition are women) contradict your argument.
@misterkaira Your problem here is not with him, it's with the English language. Surely you understand that words accuire new meanings as time happens, right? And you can't expect the English language to be supperior and perfect in every way can you? (The ancient Greeks thought this before the romans stuck a gladius up their ass) But that's besides the point. Sometimes people are going to use (perhaps) innapropriate words to describe things. Until you write a new dictionary
@Blodslav My problem here are the words he chooses to use from the english language, the words chosen were both sexist and tactless. There are better options out there.
Chivalry is a term related to the medieval institution of knighthood which has an aristocratic military origin of individual training and service to others. Has nothing to do with Gender...
The term "Feminist" is a joke...
"Equalitist" might work, but the term "Femenist" has gone down the road of "getting even" instead of "getting equal" and are adhearing more and more to the "SCUM Manifesto".

@misterkaira What I'm saying is that people shouldn't automatically think "bitchy, queeny, whiny" when they think of feminine.

@misterkaira Ok then. Describe exactly the kind of behavior he was describing. Better options? Name some.

Sadly, you mentioned the whole problem at the beginning of the video. Hardcore feminists believe it IS sexist to have a sexual orientation.

I open the door for both genders. If people think I'm sexist, they can stick it. ^_^
