  • They do not need to play the songs correctly or the exact same as any band they are covering. This is mostly the point in covering a song, playing it with your heart and adding your own special touch in to make it please the crowd even a little more. In the end, your happy ither way, the crows happy, and it just turns out to be a great show.. AND IT WAS A GREAT SHOW! How do i know? I was there. Standing right beside them just about. to be exact, back by the exit sign with my friend.

  • I no your not a petty tribute band, but in terms of adding a "special touch" distortion is a bit much concidering theres no key's,It almost seem's like a different song, but each to his own i say!!,but its great to talk to another petty fan,i live in ireland and theres not many of us over here

  • Look lads, no disrepect, but I'm a member of a Tom Petty tribute band, and that song is not played with two distorted guitars, neither is there a cymbal hit after every verse line. Please re-look at how you play this classic, 'cos it's a huge crowd-pleaser.

  • we're not a tribute band, we play songs the way we like to. It add's our special touch. Watch our other version of this song, it was well received then too.

No disrespect, I love Tom Petty/Traveling Wilburys...We just add our own touch.
