I'm using a 3 year old OWC mercury, it's kinda big but blazing fast, especially with fw 800. It's also very reliable and built very well, no problems whatsoever.
Yeah, I was really tempted to get the scorpio for my macbook pro a few months back but then thought i would get a basic WD and get SSD when its cheaper
I just picked up a seagate 1TB for $169 which is like $80US It's about the width of a cd case height-wise. I love it so far. Mine has 2 year warranty too :D
They are mostly all the same, The only reason I have a seagate is that it had enough memory and was around the price i wanted to pay for a portable hard drive, If i would have seen a western digital for less but same memory i would have got that
Yeah, there is no "Mac Hard Drives" its just a Ploy on peoples misconceptions that apples hardware (ram, Hard drives) needs to cost more. all the mac edition is, is a Hard drive Pre Formatted with HFS+, which the user can do with any western Digital drive and Disk Utility
ye i wanted the first gen HDD, but i thought they were completely stopped i mean these came out a while ago, but on ebay you can still get them ! oh well lol
Thanks for that, I was going to make a video to see which setup you guys preferred. Screenflow to me is a little more detailed and the videos turn out very nice on it.
THat seagate that i mentioned in another comment failed on me like 3 days after i got it. I got a replacement though. :)
