i would mention here the two stories surrounding the dragon bridge: 1st is that in old days a dragon lived and was a protector of Ljubljana (that's why all Ljubljana car license plates have a dragon on castle drawn)
2nd: it's connected to the greek mythology story of the Jason and the Argonauts where Jason slayed a dragon while traveling Ljubljanica river on one of his many adventures.
@InYourPocketGuides Your welcome! I'm Glad :) Questions though if you don't mind...I will most likely going alone (22yr old female) Do you think It is safe to go alone? and is English spoken by most people? Are the train stations easy to navigate?
@Panamalights Yes it is safe to travel alone in Slovenia even as a single woman as long as you take the usual precautions. People are very helpful and generally speak English or will go out of their way to find someone who does. Train stations are very easy to navigate if you are familiar with European train system. Happy travels!
This video starts with a factual error: Ljubljana is definitely NOT the smallest capital in Europe. Think Podgorica, Luxembourg city, Valletta and Andorra la Vella, to name a few. Anyway, it's a nice video.
@tadej172 take it as ironic Tadej, actually there's no reason why you can't call it a delicacy (get the spelling right).. albeit not as traditional as Kranjska Klobasa (sausage) or Potica.. and FYI, Golaz is not a Slovenian delicacy, it's Austrian food.
Excelente y con traducción al español. ¿Saben?. Cada dìa recorro la calles de Ljubljana "virtualmente" por estos videos y setoy a punto de vender mi casa para poder empeñar un viaje por esas ciudades. Después de todo tengo casi 62 años y la muerte puede esperar.
