The problem this can´t be a perfect interpretation of the scripture expecially if the there is no holiness in the interpreter. Academic interpretation alone is far from enough! God chosen are no more only jews at all cost but both jews and jentiles who have turned around to be his servants, in other words; the saints!

You've been led down a very bad teaching path & you do not know how to do your own research in the Greek words used, which help very much to understand the Rapture event. (catching away) or Harpozo which is the root word for Harpooned which is a catching away from water by a spike & rope stuck in You. Rapture is only the english word for this event. Since you think that the rapture is a biblical teaching, then you have to look futher than skimming over the bible.

Dispensationalism and bible theology go hand in hand, but looking through history , people adapt to certain teaching and adjust them into a teaching that the bible doesn't support. Look at the teachings of John nelson Darby..

But hey, those who are bible illiterate rather take the preacher word for it.

Many families were forced to sleep close together for warms & lack of room. This was common in families and was not looked upon as "weird". Mattew 24:38-42 these scripture refer to what mankind will be doing during the last days NOT A RAPTURE.. Jesus say's that two shall be in the field, one shall be taken the other left. same as the women..

During the post flood tribulation, men and women were enjoying there daily life, Jesus refered to this account because many wouldn't listen to the warning , it is given at 24:44 so we need to be ready, not for a RATURE, But for the Great Tribulation.

Your type always bring him up but all Darby did was see in the Bible what every1 else ignored because of the past 1400 years the Catholic church told every1 what to believe. Even protestant did not change quickly. Later more of them saw it & believed. There R a # off early Church Fathers who wrote about it, 1of the earliest was in 373ad by EPHRIAM the SYRIAN. It is the worlds Foremost Respected Lexicon on Greek Word Meanings (ISBN -13-978-0-226-03933-6) I also have what you mentioned. When I translate a word I use the Primary 1st & not the Alternate meanings, unless the context shows otherwise. I should think You'd like the Truth & not just what fits your predetermined beliefs. @parousia555 For your information, the 'Sinaiticus" was a Gnostic translation of the then known manuscripts & is not TRUSTWORTHY to accept as what the Original manuscripts said. There are over 6000+ other manuscripts that disagree with the Sinaiticus. I would not use the Sinaiticus today any more than I would use a Jehovah Wittiness bible {NWT} to understand GODS TRUTHS. Being "OLD" does not make it better or more reliable. Gnostic 's were a CULT and Not True Christianity. Same for the Catholics

@MPPFLIPP U have the Codex Sinaiticus confused with the Nag Hammadi, which is gnostic.....when did the Greek word to know "gnosis" or an experiential knowing that is in ur bible become a cult....gnostic thought influenced Francis Bacon which became the model of scientific discovery. The originator of gnosis itself is from Socrates, who in turned influenced the Sufi's who had a major impact on early Islam.

@parousia555 I have no idea what you are getting at? But, I always take what the Original meaning of a word as it's primary meaning. Lightening is Lightening, not "sun" . At the time this was written, the East always had prominence over the West when examples were given. Background is everything when understanding what was meant by the original writer. Present day meanings do not supercede because R understanding may be different on a "word" used then. For instance "GAY" used to mean "HAPPY"

I personally believe that Matthew 24:41 and Luke 17:36 are speaking about the Pretribulation Rapture; and not the Judgment of the Nations at the end of the 7-year Tribulation Period.

Love how Showers nonchalantly reads the rather unemotional sounding Mt 24:40 verse of "one will be taken and one will be left" that so often is misused as a Rapture prooftext then goes on over to the parallel passage in Luke 17:37 where one little detail is added: "...'Where, Lord?' And He said to them, 'Where the body is, THERE ALSO THE VULTURES WILL BE GATHERED." ! Yikes ! doesn't sound like heaven to me! Can't be the Rapture. People need to do scripture-to-scripture study.
