Do you really want to joint DRDO? The minimum requirement for joining is to have 65% in your B.E. you should be B.E./M.E to join DRDO as an engineer. For scientist they require PhD. DRDO conducts written test at hydrabad. If selected you go for a interview. As you are intrested in Rifels go for mech engg

nah indian politcians don't care. when bangladesh army shot 10 BSF soldiers near indo-bangla border, india did nothing. Doesn't matter,even it is a small country, that provokes, India is going to bend and show its ass. India will respond only if they cross the territory and occupy its land. Indian army, Air force used to override whatever DRDO said, but not anymore. Recent panel set up to curb corruption, has recommended that DRDO should play a greater role in defence procurements !! Believe me, none of the top army officers want india's indigenous weapons to see the light !!

Army and air force change their weapons specifications, so that, they can go for foreign weapons and get commission. Scandals (Barak SAM, Spyder SAM, and other hidden deals, which never came out !!

Sometimes it gets so nasty, the senior bastards don't even give proper ration for our infantry soldiers. Cheap scandals, like giving 1 egg/day instead of 2 eggs/day for our infantry soldiers !! Selling items in black market !!

the best solution is don't give ny position in DRDO to defence officers , coz they r mentally and logically far inferior to the scientists n engineers. i don knw y govt give defence officials high positions in drdo , such positions must be given to professionals. these bsc degree hold.ers army officers spoils evrythng for bribery . most ppl thnk armed forces r free of corruption bt they r one of the highest corrupted institution in the country.

While DARPA has been a huge success since its inception, the DRDO still hasn't been able to achieve its vision — everything that really matters in the Indian military is still imported. Nice video on the history but DRDO really needs to work out plans and deliver on the original promise.
