It's funny but I worry a bit about the posters promoting the freezone.. the freezone aren't actually free anymore (they just "charge less" than the CoS) and they still do all of the rather iffy psychological practices like TRs and reverie auditing. Who the fuck are you cunts to say what religion/cult people can or can't follow. If I wanna join a cult and give them all my money then I will. How long before Anonymous decides what political parties we can and can't vote for? Fuck you, you facist cunts!
Yes they are. Cult just means religion. In fact, all religions were referred to as cults back in the days of the Roman Empire, an era which pretty much defined what religion is in the West. Its just our culture has completely changed the perception of a cult. It is weird.
Could you give me the definition or email me a link to a credible source that gives the Ancient Roman defintion of a cult? Being that Ancient Rome worshiped many gods and that includes the Emperor at times.
Anonymous is not trying to get rid of the Scientology religion, but to expose the dangers it poses to society. Trying to eradicate religion could only be done by force, brainwashing, and anti-religion laws. That is more scary than anything Scientology could ever do. That is North Korea
[Could you give me the definition or email me a link to a credible source that gives the Ancient Roman defintion of a cult?]
Unfortunately I cannot give links on comments, youtube took off that option years ago because of spam, but I can copy and paste the old definition if you want.
Cult is an English word, however its etymology goes into Roman vernacular.
The term "cult" first appeared in English in 1617, derived from the French culte, meaning "worship" or "a particular form of worship" which in turn originated from the Latin word cultus meaning "care, cultivation, worship," originally "tended, cultivated," also the past participle of colere "to till the soil". In French, for example,
sections in newspapers giving the schedule of worship at Catholic churches are headed Culte Catholique; the section giving the schedule of Protestant churches is headed culte réformé.
The comparative study of cult practice is part of the disciplines of the anthropology of religion and the sociology of religion, two aspects of comparative religion. In the context of many religious organisations themselves, the study of cultic or liturgical practises is called liturgiology.
[that Ancient Rome worshiped many gods and that includes the Emperor at times.]
Yes, but the romans had a history of state enforced religion, or ¨state cults¨ as some call them, such as the cult of vesta.
It is natural for a word to change it's connotation through time and different cultures. Thus, Cult means something different from it's past. Cult has a negative connotation and definition in western culture today. We don't mean it in it's classical sense. Neither does one want to get rid of all religions in the same way one confronts a cult (in today's sense of the word). To define all religions as cults in the sense that it means today is just a strawman fallacy.
[It is natural for a word to change it's connotation through time and different cultures.]
I never said it was not, but its just stupid to claim something like religion is not a cult or vice versa, because a cult is a religion, and well, vice versa. Its dumb and rather bizarre to insult a group by calling it a cult if you are not insulting them for being a religion.
[Thus, Cult means something different from it's past.]
Maybe in popular American lingo, but that usually is not the correct definition. I mean, American terminology equates Liberalism with Leftism, which of course is completely false.
[Cult has a negative connotation and definition in western culture today.]
Not really. Since religion in American society at least, is a positive thing. Thus cult is too. The Cult of Christianity, or Cult of Judaism, or Cult of Islam are not negative to them.
[We don't mean it in it's classical sense. Neither does one want to get rid of all religions in the same way one confronts a cult (in today's sense of the word).]
Neither does one not want to do what? What exactly are you talking about?
[To define all religions as cults in the sense that it means today is just a strawman fallacy.]
Its not a strawman, and its not meant to be negative. Cult just means religion. If cult is a dirty word to you, that is your problem.
[Trying to eradicate religion could only be done by force, brainwashing, and anti-religion laws. That is more scary than anything Scientology could ever do. That is North Korea]
I do not know what North Korea has to do with eradicating religion, but usually religions die when they become culturally irrelevant or the culture objects to them. ¨Brainwashing¨ and force make a religion stronger.
In persecuting Christians (essentially killing and/or imprisoning them and anyone in their family) or any other religion because it seeks to have an "atheistic" Communist system. In doing so, they actually set up a cult that seeks to worship the leader (as most Communist systems end up doing) and forcing other citizens to revier that person whether they want to or not.
[In persecuting Christians (essentially killing and/or imprisoning them and anyone in their family) or any other religion because it seeks to have an "atheistic" Communist system.]
It does not persecute Christians though. Sure, its a poor shit hole, and political dissenters (ironically, mostly worker activist ) are persecuted, but religions really are not. However, they do not have a heavily religious population,
since Korea has not had one until recently (South Korea) and thus, no real persecution.
[n doing so, they actually set up a cult that seeks to worship the leader (as most Communist systems end up doing)]
I dont remember most Communist systems worshiping a leader. I only really find that in rightist leadership. Hell, the US worships its leadership, especially past leaders. Criticism of historic leaders is rarely tolerated there.
No nation becomes perfectlly atheistic. There always has been and there always will be elements of religion. Man naturally has a desire to worship. Not every person can deny that part of them because eventually they either worship a deity, a code or themselves.
I was talking about NK below (or above). My previoius response.
No nation becomes perfectly anything though. I do not see perfection in being one mindset or many, it really does not matter, in terms of perfection, unless you define perfection as simply thinking one way and having everyone else do it.
[There always has been and there always will be elements of religion. ]
Not really, many cultures lacked and still do lack what we call religion.
Really? Who said that? What biologist or sociologist discovered that? I do not. Many cultures do not. Worship also does not equal religion. Neither does Atheism equal irreligious.
That'd be nice, sure, but Scientology is a big issue because of all the people it's killing and the fact that it is COMPLETELY selfish and greedy. It's not like a religion such as Christianity that at least does a little good.
Yeah, I mostly agree with you. I dont see any good Scientology does, but brands of Christianity, at least within Amish and Quakers have done a lot of good. I was just saying cult=religion. I wasnt saying that is necessarily a negative.
a few years back my friends and I went to the Scientology Celebrity Center in Hollywood, CA. The scientlogists put on their propaganda intro video. In one scene, they show a photo of a proud L. Ron. Hubbard. Then, a slow fade to a statue of Buddha - we were laughing hysterically.
I was going to do what, instead of Dianetics book, the Scientologist symbol instead saying Wales: keep it clean! Cymru: Cadw 'i glanha! Nice work guys! =)
The more I watch this the more I grow concerned that it is really not fair that you are allowed to have masks to hide yourselves and protest against anything. Don't we hold the basic belief that we should be allowed to face our accusers and judge their crediability?
ok, post all of your personal information, a picture of yourself, and possibly the names of some of your friends and close family members. We'll judge your credibility. The CoS is a scary effing organization that is known to attack its detractors personally. These protesters are fairly justified in their caution
O_o the reason why they wear the mask is for anonymity, the basic right of their group, and try looking up "Fair game policy". Where the scientologists will practially huntdown and attempt to humiliate and force out critics into backing down.
No, I understand, but if someone accuses you of rape or murder, don't you have the right to know who they are and challenge them? I understand pointing out COS cult like things, but everyone were masks seems dangerous and wrong. You should look someone in the eye and not hide behind anything. PLUS, we all have things that we want to hide, so is it really are place to cast stones?
Does it makes a difference that it is an anonymous group against a large organisation and not an individual? What I wonder is why doesn't scientology address the concerns expressed by anonymous. Instead it has just attacked them. Why don't they prove to people that they have nothing to worry about. And if it's something you can't just 'prove', why don't they set up a private investigation to clear up in people's minds that there's no major abuse problem. They're acting as if they are guilty.
i think thats some of the point. RELIGIONS would simply talk to the people. these guys tend to just attack and intimidate. (look up Fair Game for more details).
They are facing their accusers - the Body Politic. We, the People. We are ALL anonymous. If you still don't understand why they wear masks, go read up on some of the tactics employed by $cientology to silence those who protest their cult.
God i wish i knew that that was going to go down, i would have loved to be there! Does anyone have a website where i can keep up-to-date with all of this stuff? It'd be massively appreciated!
Neat, you got Van Halen playing in the begining, but wtf is with up with that barrier. Scientology deserves to have critics in their face because of the shit they pull.
You're a lying, cult shill who's been conned by a cult of greed and power, what would you know?
Hubbards recordings, in complete audio, are posted on the net, yes. Does that automatically mean they're not real? No.
What's more, the OT 3 papers are real it was proven in a Dutch court. You can order the information on the Fishman affidavit using FOIA. As with most of what's found on critical sites, you can see for yourself in RL by simply investigating or requesting FOIA.
Such as? Evidence please, testimonials from the CoS are not proof.
So far scientologists have made many claims about helping people, but no one in the world has been able to find any evidence to back it up. Why is that?
The fact that he couldn't decide just shows what a sham arse "religion" it is.
I'd rather be a DIM than a dimwit anyway!
Besides, Dicks fuck pussies and arseholes (watch Team America if you don't get it)....and these arseholes seriously need to be fucked!
Anons rule, scientologist are just people who have been taken advantage of by an evil corporation and we should try to help them see it for what it is.....they need our help, not our scorn
My best guess would be it's there just to stop it spilling into the roadway and stopping traffic, London cops for the most part are very tolerant except if your block traffic..... and if you'd ever seen the traffic in London you'd know why.
What a great show of solidarity and support for a good cause. Awesome effort London and area Anonymous. Wish I could have flown over from Canada to join you. Awesome turnout.
Other large are Anonymous should try and see if they can beat your attendance at the next protest. About how many were there?
"Life improvement centre?" Good bloody gods that's sad. Scientology destroys lives, and narCONon takes lives.
Love to see so many activists in London; never (in the 13 years I have been studying the Scientology crime syndicate) would I have thought so many people would protest and picket the criminal enterprise.
He is still a Scientology customer, but his masters do not let him go outside alone to confront human rights activists: he has a "handler" these days.

Aww man. Mark, it must feel awesome to have all these people protesting with you now. THIS is what a 'mad picket' should be yeah?
Glad you stuck it out all these years. We're going to see this through. Not long now if all the wins we've been having lately keep coming.

Neat, you got Van Halen playing in the begining, but wtf is with up with that barrier. Scientology deserves to have critics in their face because of the shit they pull.

Why have the cops got anons penned up?
I suppose it's cool that they still put them right outside and it keeps them out of harms way.
GREAT protest London, love the rick rolls!

You are penned up because that is what happens to DIMS.
xemutv 3 years ago
DIMS?
never heard of that before.
BTW, I noticed your name and remember when Hubbard spoke about "Xenu" and I'm pretty sure he spelt it Xemu just like you have.
Did you catch that or are you just trying to get people who are looking for Mark Bunker's channel and can't type?
drukenhard 3 years ago

DIM
DICKS IN MASKS
XEMU is correct.Mark Bunker got it wrong.
xemutv 3 years ago
You wish. The fact is Hubbard couldn't decide, infact in his recording he said "Xenu or is it xemu?"
OT3 shows it clearly written as xenu.
Please stop the obvious attempts at misinformation.
Obvious clam shill is obvious.
xenuismaster 3 years ago
You are a DIM what would you know. The internet isnt always correct.
xemutv 3 years ago
You're a lying, cult shill who's been conned by a cult of greed and power, what would you know?
Hubbards recordings, in complete audio, are posted on the net, yes. Does that automatically mean they're not real? No.
What's more, the OT 3 papers are real it was proven in a Dutch court. You can order the information on the Fishman affidavit using FOIA. As with most of what's found on critical sites, you can see for yourself in RL by simply investigating or requesting FOIA.
Sorry, you fail

This so-called cult of greed has done more for the world than you ever will you DIM.
Scientology has not failed.
You are failing.

donvito88666 3 years ago
Such as? Evidence please, testimonials from the CoS are not proof.
So far scientologists have made many claims about helping people, but no one in the world has been able to find any evidence to back it up. Why is that?
xenuismaster 3 years ago 2
*cough* SCIFAG *cough*
neo8x4e 3 years ago
The fact that he couldn't decide just shows what a sham arse "religion" it is.
I'd rather be a DIM than a dimwit anyway!
Besides, Dicks fuck pussies and arseholes (watch Team America if you don't get it)....and these arseholes seriously need to be fucked!
Anons rule, scientologist are just people who have been taken advantage of by an evil corporation and we should try to help them see it for what it is.....they need our help, not our scorn
drukenhard 3 years ago
My best guess would be it's there just to stop it spilling into the roadway and stopping traffic, London cops for the most part are very tolerant except if your block traffic..... and if you'd ever seen the traffic in London you'd know why.

What a great collective sense of humor Anons have. Scientologists, on the other hand, are about as funny as Republicans.
allmuppetcaligula 3 years ago 2
"Life improvement centre?" Good bloody gods that's sad. Scientology destroys lives, and narCONon takes lives.
Love to see so many activists in London; never (in the 13 years I have been studying the Scientology crime syndicate) would I have thought so many people would protest and picket the criminal enterprise.

"Wonder what has happened to Dan Murnan?"
He is still a Scientology customer, but his masters do not let him go outside alone to confront human rights activists: he has a "handler" these days.
