d0es any1 knows why squids and octopuses have beaks??? well i know that they eat with that but why a beak and not a mouth with teeth or something like that??? O.O
@cutelittlebluegirl "Regular" mouths with jaws and teeth are normal for animals with bones (vertebrates). Boneless animals (invertebrates) have all kinds of strange teeth/mouths -- bugs with piercing tubes, snails with drills, etc. Beaks are just what happened to evolve in cephalopods -- millions of years before bony jaws became the rule. They sure work good for biting chunks out of stuff... Thanks for the question -- hope I helped answer it.
