It took me exactly 2 days to stop smoking cigarettes with an e-cig. Then it took exactly a month before I didn't even want the e-cig anymore. Best and easiest and guaranteed (if you actually want to stop) way to stop smoking.

There was also a study (can't find a reference atm, and I am unaware of that it was ever repeated) that found a high concentration of cells for which nicotine can prevent apoptosis in cancerous lung biopsies. He isn't actually lying; he just has f**ed up values. Imho, its worth the risk.

It's much harder for a minor to get ahold of one of these products than a pack of cigarettes. You can't stand outside a liquor store and ask an adult to buy an e-cig for you. You must have a credit card, and it is delivered to your house. So if your kid steals your credit card to buy it, you'd definitely notice on your card statement if you didn't already notice the package being delivered.
I and everyone else here knows this. The FDA does not want the e-cigarette on the Market because it will kill their profits off of nonsmoking campaigns, and cigarette taxes. @rockmasterking4 The chewing gum and patch also have nicotine in them as well. But you do use those to quit. I used the patch years ago and i was successful but only for about two years before i fell off the horse. It's the same idea with the e-cig. just a different method. However, "vaporing" is less harmfull. about 4,000 carcinogens less harmful than smokes, and also less expensive.

Yeah, the FDA will recommend Chantix which is now shown to cause depression, suicide and death to quit smoking but wont stand behind the E-cigarette because not enough research has been done. Yet the FDA blindly says its ok for drug manufacturers to push their unstudied products. Friday March 26, 11:30 am we received our Eluma ecigs. My hubby and I smoke a combined 2 and a half to three packs a day. Ecigs arrived and there were 6 smokes left in our pack. I quit cold turkey and haven't looked back.
101 hours and counting with zero cigarettes. Hubby finished off the six leftovers but hasn't had any more since Saturday afternoon. It's now Tuesday evening. He smoked for twenty years, me for 13 and never been able to quit before.

I just ordered an ecig and the best part is you can go from high nicotine cartridges to medium to low to NO nicotine. So if you still want to be a social smoker and hang with your friends while they puff away you can. And you don't have to give up the oral/hand habit.
I plan to wean down and then off nicotine. Can't wait!

It took me exactly 2 days to stop smoking cigarettes with an e-cig. Then it took exactly a month before I didn't even want the e-cig anymore. Best and easiest and guaranteed (if you actually want to stop) way to stop smoking.

@4bubble2hash0 Actually, while nicotine has never been shown to cause cancer, it does prevent cell apoptosis, so it might cause cancer. Check the wikipedia article on nicotine for references. There was also a study (can't find a reference atm, and I am unaware of that it was ever repeated) that found a high concentration of cells for which nicotine can prevent apoptosis in cancerous lung biopsies. He isn't actually lying; he just has f**ed up values. Imho, its worth the risk.

It's much harder for a minor to get ahold of one of these products than a pack of cigarettes. You can't stand outside a liquor store and ask an adult to buy an e-cig for you. You must have a credit card, and it is delivered to your house. So if your kid steals your credit card to buy it, you'd definitely notice on your card statement if you didn't already notice the package being delivered.

@rockmasterking4 The chewing gum and patch also have nicotine in them as well. But you do use those to quit. I used the patch years ago and i was successful but only for about two years before i fell off the horse. It's the same idea with the e-cig. just a different method. However, "vaporing" is less harmfull. about 4,000 carcinogens less harmful than smokes, and also less expensive.

Yeah, the FDA will recommend Chantix which is now shown to cause depression, suicide and death to quit smoking but wont stand behind the E-cigarette because not enough research has been done. Yet the FDA blindly says its ok for drug manufacturers to push their unstudied products. The FDA is just upset they will lose an incredible amount of money from the sin tax as well as drug and tobacco company funding if more people quit.

Friday March 26, 11:30 am we received our Eluma ecigs. My hubby and I smoke a combined 2 and a half to three packs a day. Ecigs arrived and there were 6 smokes left in our pack. I quit cold turkey and haven't looked back.
101 hours and counting with zero cigarettes. Hubby finished off the six leftovers but hasn't had any more since Saturday afternoon. It's now Tuesday evening. He smoked for twenty years, me for 13 and never been able to quit before.
I don't even MISS it.

Even if there are some negative side effects of the e-cig, which I don't really believe, it can't possibly in any way come close to the negatives of real cigarettes. Yeah they have nicotine in them.. and so did regular cigarettes along with tar/carcinogens/fermaldahyde/cyanide or whatever the hell all the nast stuff in them is. It didn't seem like he was suggesting that the e-cigarettes be made prescription only. It seemed more like he was pushing to have them tested by the FDA. However, the point still stands that people will be far more resistant to quitting if it ends up costing more to quit then to continue the habit..
