More about this song.In Pakistani version there they added one para for East Bengal"MASHREQMEIN BANGAL SUNHERA HAREK TARAF HARIYALA HAI" BUT this since East Bengal no more a part of Pakistan they have cut the portion from the movie. That's all right I hate to be with Pakistan. Not the people the name, which was not supposed to come into being. Last of all Jagriti released in 1954 and Bedari in1958 when I was student of VIII th grade. So readers to decide who copied who?

Sorry I am to trying tell you something about this song : This song is first in the movie Jagriti and vocalist/Lyricist as well Pradeep and eventually Ratan Kumar migrated to Pakistan in the year 1955/56 and root of all evils. He wanted to make the same movie with same story and everything. Not only this song all other songs of Jagriti have been copied in TOTO. The name of the movie in Pakistani version is Bedari where in this song one para was for East Bengal

Thoroughly enjoyed this video, its on my favourites now. Only one thing has perturbed me though, in relation to the song on Pakistan in the related videos. I have no problems with it being set on the same music, but why do they have to show the Indian flag being burnt....just leaves a very sour taste in the mouth and a poor opinion of the country...apologies to any Pakistani reader, its nothing personal.

Man, those statements are bullshit. Pakistan used be a part of India under British Rule and these sayings existed in folk songs wayy before independence of both countries.

What I do find a little disconcerting in the song is the way they portray Shivaji as fighting against the Mughals and keeping India's laj which is more bullshit. The idea of India as a nation didn't even exist before the British forced us all to come together as a people of the subcontinent.

Don't agree. That too was an excellent adaptation. Gandhi had guts too, it was a different set of principles. You just can't say blood blood all the time, regardless of context. Today we need a balanced approach. This song encapsulates all the good AND bad things of the Hindus' history. Remember that Mohommed Ghori did not forgive Prithviraj Chauhan although PC had set MG free after making him prisoner many times. History, as they say is replete with all these examples.
