You couldn't tell us please how long the battery lasts in video mode with constant use i.e recording max length possible (30 mins in Europe) videos one after another?
@anygoodatdancin The battery life is pretty decent. I find that if I am using my camera very heavily during a day of photography I don't need to charge it so I'd imagine that video will probably last you a good while. I don't really use the camera for filming to give you an accurate idea of time.
I took pictures and videos at an event and the battery lasted a good three hours. I took about 200 pics, about 5 mins of normal video and several slow mo clips and the batt lasted with lots to spare.
I just bought the camera today and then found your tutorials here. I'm enjoying them, thank you. My last camera was the the S5 IS. The screen on the revolving back just quit on me one day. It still lights up, but I don't get any image, just all white, so I have been just using the eye piece viewer for about 6 months. Anyways so the basics of the camera I'm used to, but I'm appreciating your "update coaching" so to say, from the S5 IS to the SX40 HS,, now ,,, on to your next video
set the camera to "TV" mode and it will take clear still pictures and the flash works as well if you haven't figured out how to get them clear hopefully this helps greats vids helped me a lot with this camera :)
@darrelwaynegsell I agree with you Tv mode is definitely a lot more successful with fast shots. I left that one to a little later as not everyone understands aspects like shutter speed straight away so I introduced Tv a little later :) Good to know you have had success with it though, I never get a chance to do sports photography unfortunately.
@XxXEmirIXxX I'm not sure on Bokeh but your can definitely do long exposure. In manual settings, the longest exposure time is 15 secs. I haven't looked into whether the camera can do a bulb shutter yet. I will do a long exposure tutorial in the near future :)
Very helpful tutorials :) . One question, do the canon powershot sx40 hs have an acessorie to attach to it such as lens, lens to make fisheye, or do they even sell a bundle pack to go with it?
@xcharmaineee The SX40 has a fisheye function on it. I will go through it in the next video. It's good fun and far less bother than actually physically fitting any attachments on.
The Sx40 is great for features but I found a lot of them were hidden and I only discovered them after I did my original review.
I didn't find many bundles or other accessories for the SX40 but I haven't really felt like I've needed them so I wouldn't worry too much. A decent case and lots of memory are all I needed:)
@xcharmaineee I've only seen filters for them and a widescreen lens no fisheye yet if you go on amazon.com and just type in the camera name and browse through you will see hopefully this helps ya!

Does it have a live histogram?

@Zammy7140 You can use the histogram if you change the display to show more info. It works in TV, AV, P and M.
