  • @BushidoCode72 @tencylinder

I tell my friends about this because I've had many fun times and benefited greatly. It's not because I want them to follow a "Grandmaster" like it's some sort of religion. I do it because it's fun and it's a great source of exercise. I'm not trying to tell you to join or w/e but I also do want to say that I researched, I'm not naive and I know it's out there. You just have to be careful...I don't know where I'm going with this but that's my 2 cents...

  • @PassiveTaco , Excellent points. I haven't studied OYD for over 20 years, but the training is still paying benefits. I get upset when I see the same few people trying to damage OYD by posting ridiculous distortions and outright lies. You can tell these folks right away because then never comment on the video, they just spout off.

  • jyunte, Fact vs. Fiction. I practiced in that school for 10 years. No one was ever 'beaten'. Sure does make a good story though. There are a few idiots out there who are disgruntled former students that couldn't hack it. They have such pathetic lives that all they wish to do is tear down those that exceed them. They try, by pathetic lies and distortions of truths. It drives these losers crazy that after 20 years of lying, they still fail to destroy OYD.

  • @tencylinder There are so many links about Chung Moo Doe, John "Iron" Kim, and the lawsuits, including the article in wikipedia, which contains a link to the court's Minute Orders document for the felony case against Kim and his National Instructors.

On 04/11/95, bail was set for Kim to the tune of $750,000, and then a warrant was issued for his arrest.

  • @jyunte This document states:

"the total amount of tax that the [members of the conspiracy] evaded or attempted to evade" during and in furtherance of the conspiracy of which defendants stand convicted, was $2,172,800.00."

Sentencing John C Kim count(s) 1. The defendant is hereby committed to the custody of the United States Bureau of Prisons to be imprisoned for a total term of sixty (60) months on Count 1. ...

  • @jyunte ...Upon release from imprisonment, the defendant shall be on supervised release for a term of three (3) years.

While tencylinder can argue about "disgruntled former students" who "couldn't hack" the training at Chung Moo Doe, and give all kinds of anecdotal evidence of how great Chung Moo Doe is, he can't deny the facts that are easily located, and won't go away, just because they changed the name from Chung Moo Doe to Oom Yung Doe.

  • @jyunte YOU ARE RIGHT. WIth so much overwhelming information out there about fraud, and scams and brainwashing, etc. if people do not find it, or force themselves not to believe it, they are lost. Even their health claims are fraudulent. Oh well. Just have to move on.

  • Wow! I haven't seen much Bagua circle walking with weapons and have never seen with a double spear. This is so crisp and precise. Great demonstration of advanced Bagua.

  • jyunte, not sure who you talked to or where you were but when I was a student of CMQ (in the 80's) we used the bamboo training kendo for sparring practice. Did we ever use a sharped steel samurai sword for sparring?, no. And to your Aikido, Hapkido being the same art, you should do some studying about the origin of Hapkido. You probably think Hapkido is all crazy kicks, if so you are wrong. Martial arts is partly based on belief, faith and respect, no wonder nobody answered your questions.

  • @tencylinder LOL Dude, we can all Google aikido and hapkido. The thing is, as for CMQ in the 80s, it was all made up. It was a cult group with a few instructors who had martial arts training. Kim's Korean teachers were found and they had no knowledge of his skills, Champion of all Asia competitions (backyard competitions), etc. It was all made up. Those guys did not answer questions because ASKING was DISRESPECTFUL. NO FREE THOUGHT in CMQ in those days or intructor makes you hold positions.

  • @tencylinder I've done a LOT of research on Hapkido and Aikido and their history. The fun part is the Hapkido history: Hapkido was invented by Yong Sul Choi. In an interview, he claimed to have been the senior student of, and future successor to Daito Ryu's Sokaku Takeda. Unfortunately, no one who studied with Takeda at that time knew him, even as a student, let alone heir to the throne. His name does not appear in any of the records kept to this day by the Takeda family...

  • @jyunte ...even as an attendee at a seminar. Choi claimed to have used the Japanese name "Tatsujutsu Yoshida" while studying with Takeda, but that's is a made up name, for which no kanji exists, He claimed to use a Japanese pseudonym as no Koreans were allowed to study Daito Ryu. This too is false, as several Korean students are listed in Takeda's records. Further, Choi claimed that Takeda committed ritual suicide after Japan lostthe war and that he acted as Takeda's "second"...

  • @jyunte ...cutting off Takeda's head, as he was the only one of Takeda's students who was good enough with the sword to do the job! This is a problem, as Takeda died of a stroke in Ayabe, he did not commit suicide and did not have his head chopped off! Choi also claimed to have hadall of his documentation (proof of rank, lineage in Daito Ryu, teaching credentials etc) stolen while "on a train from Japan to Korea". Guess no one told Choi that Japan is an island!

  • @jyunte But enough about Choi. The art he developed is loosly based on Aikido and Japanese jujutsu, and is effective in its own right. Chung Moo Doe teachers have no understanding of the individual arts they supposedly teach "as one".They were unable to answer my questions because their answers could be easily verified, which in turn would prove that Chung Moo Doe is bunk, that their quoted history is a lie, and that their founder is a fraud... which is exactly what he was convicted of!

  • 20 years ago, I asked the National Instructors of John "Iron" Kim's Chung Moo Doe to detail exactly who taught Kim Aikido and "Samurai Sword". I asked them to explain why they listed Aikido and Hapkido as the same art. I asked what they meant by "Samurai Sword", since they don't even use Japanese swords in Chung Moo Doe. I never received any answers. Several people, including myself, asked about Kim's alleged links to the Korean royal family, when in fact he was a janitor. Nothing!

  • @jyunte You will never receive any answers. The ENTIRE STORY OF OYD IS MADE UP. Some instructors were good martial artists because of their previous experiences in other schools. Others, had no skills but wore uniforms in order to make the appearance. THey KNOW NOTHING abou any martial art history. They could not tell the difference between Aikido, Hapkido, Udo, Judo, Kong Soo, Tae Kwon Do, etc. etc. And there is no link to any Korean Royal family lol.

  • @BushidoCode72 (what a joke), let's see you show something? Anything? Bushido is a weak, pathetic liar. Couldn't hack it in OYD, so he quite. You can't answer a single question I posed to you. All you can do is site a book written by a disgruntled weak loser like yourself.

  • @tencylinder What questions do you have? Dude, I see you are a hard core follower. Ok. I wish you all the best. When you want to learn the truth, go ahead, and do your own research. There is so mcuh information on the history of OYD, CMQ and CMD, it is overwhelming. If you want to believe the school's web sites (no one actually saw master kim do anything btw), ok. When you want to learn more, you can Youtube Chung Moo Quan the Cult and the Con report (to start your research)

  • @BushidoCode72 @tencylinder

Ok I'm really sorry but both you kids need to calm down. I've been training with OYD for 3 years and yes I do acknowledge the facts that he went to jail and etc. Thankfully, I've never been truly attacked so I don't know how effective this is against self defense, I don't want to have a false sense of security. I do, however, know that for the past 3 years, I've continually grown stronger and healthier than I've ever been before. I can do flips, work with swords etc.

  • @jyunte You are lucky you did not get a beating for asking those questions. You know its a cult when any type of asking or probing lead to you being labled disrespectful and beaten. I hope the schools has changed. I doubt it though.

  • @BushidoCode72 Having personally visited their schools and witnessed their training first hand, I was not overly concerned about getting a beating. I'm sure their technique of brainwashing their students is more sophisticated these days, and once a student has time and money invested in Chung Moo Doe it becomes very hard for them to look at it objectively anymore. It's hard for most people to admit they were duped.

  • Tashmerdog, I don't see any issue with a company changing a sign or company name, its quite common practice. I remember the rush for First Chicago to change there signs to Bank One and then rush to change them to Chase. I am trying to identify credible folks to discuss martial arts. Perhaps your can answer the same questions I posted for Bushido, much appreciated.

  • @tencylinder That company had multiple names. They went under Chung Moo Quan for a while but to avoid tax they opened schools under Chung Moo Doe and Oom Yung Doe. Those arts in reality do not exist anywhere on the planet. Students were told that the "master" opened schools under different names in because that is how things were done in "Asia." There IS NO OYD or CMQ or CMD in Asia at all. It was a tax evasion schedme and they were caught.

  • @BushidoCode72 , Really? Perhaps you can tell me how that works? You are getting dumber by the second. Is that what Bank one bank did when the changed names to Chase? Did they "get away" with a huge scam?

You are making stuff up out of thin air, dummy!

Students told you? Who are you that students told you? Your a liar just making things up

  • @tencylinder Dude, no need to get angry. I am merely stating facts. ANd these facts stood up in court. There are youtube videos of Kim being arrested and sent to jail. And KIM WENT TO JAIL for 9 years along with his followers. Just check your own facts there is so much information on this cult...if you cant be convinced, why are we even having this youtube discussions.

  • Bushido, thanks in advance for your answers.

  • Bushido, I am not trying to pester or disrespect you, I am truly interested in the answers to the questions I posted so I can verify the information your posted is accurate. After all, you know there are a lot of nuts out there with no experience posted crazy lies about all sorts of things. In fact that is why I read the entire testimony, someone else told me exactly what you said (that the forms were made up and the proof is in the testimony), to date no one can point to it in any testimony.

  • @tencylinder You have to read the history of the art and how it was founded in mid to late 70s. Kim was not the only one who was creating it at the time. If you can, read a book called Herding the Moo. Then do your own research and it will all add up for you. I know OYD ex studnets and CMQ ex students who are wonderful, loving people. THey were just hurt, abused, and manipulated.

  • Hi Bushido, thanks for the info, however, I read through the entire court testimony and there was not one mention of the forms being taught were "made up" from kung fu books. Can you be more specific in where and how you know this? What kung fu magazine? what issue? Also, to lend credibility to yourself, can you please tell me about yourself? have you studied OYD? how long? What do you study now and whom do you learn from? Are there any youtube videos of you showing your skills?

  • Its a cult. Still is. The founders of this garbage have been to prison for violent crimes, con, and tax evasion. Kim himself is a fraud. His history can be tracked by to the 70s right up to his arrest in the 90s. I can't believe people are still brainwashed by this instead of going to reputable REAL schools for training. Just read Herding the Moo for more history on the cult.

  • Yeah I was in back then, I remember the rush to change the sign from Chung Moo Quan to Chung Moo Do.

  • John C. Kim is fake and went to jail for 9 years for fraud and tax evasion. He made up all those techniques from Kung FU magazines. Just do your research before signing up for these programs. Check out 1990 investigation into Kim by Pam Zachman and look up arrests for Oom Yung Doe, Chung Moo Quan and Chung Moo Doe.

  • @BushidoCode72 , Bushido Code, what a joke, you have NO honor. Those with honor would never hide behind a cloak of anonymity in a feeble attempt to hurt others. The forms demonstrated above are incredible. The lack of display of your skills speaks volumes about you.

  • @tencylinder Dude, do your own research on this art and it's founder. Read about their crimes and violence, and ambushes on multiple martial arts schools they did and the scams they pulled on the innocent. Then we can discuss honor. I'm sure you can be a good guy, but don't connect 'honor' wiht OYD. Do your own research into it's passed and you shall find your answers. The charges had nothing to do with forms. But read history of the founder. And writings of students who assisted him.

  • I do agree with you that some have left, and now teach some great stuff. Well, let's take Tom McGee for instance, just check out his own website:

  • Now, T-Bag, to reply to your latest display of stupidity: You act like you know those guys and have tea with them everyday.

By looking at you statements and timeline I know you do not know these guys and have never met them. You say "they got out" like they were trapped in there. Its a two-way door, you can go in or out anytime.

  • Where to start with such a mindless idiot child...

First and formost, t-bag is just trying to deflect attention from the many requests for him to show something.

Second he by his own admission is purposefully trying to damage the reputation of a great school.

Third, this loser is holding a grudge for over 20years.

  • BTW: tman, my offer still stands.

Or at least if you can't come here, post a video of one of your fights. If you do fight amature or pro, they are always taped so you should have one, let's see!

  • The reason tman cant post one of those is because he is a liar. He is not nor has he ever been a fighter. He is simply a ledgend in his own mind with a big mouth.

Then in his infinite stupidity, he tries to challenge me to a fight. But he also got called out on that. I even offered to pay for his flight if he won. And remember folks, this is after he said 'step up or shut up'.

Well tman, I am really dissapointed in you. You are even more of a coward than I initially thought.

  • And there you have it. This worthless windbag is nothing but a jealous little girl lashing out do to her own ineptness.

First this idiot tries to criticize the forms of OYD, calling them made up. Still he wont show any videos of his martial arts. Then when called on that, he says he's a fighter, but when called on that, he still refuses to post a video. BTW: If he was a fighter, every single amature and professional fight is video taped, so why can't he just post one of those??

  • @tencylinder The forms of OYD are all made up. Kim made them up back in the late 70s from Kung Fu books and magazines. Just read Herding the Moo or any court testimony. Kim is a criminal, a con, and a cult leader with virtually no martial arts training.

  • Comment removed

  • Excellent, I'm totally game for that.

I live in Chicago, you have to come here. Loser pays for the flight.

Post your boarding pass on this site so everyone can see that this is really going to happen.

We don't need any promoter, I have a friend that has a gym we can use after hours.

And I will setup a video camera to record the entire fight which we post after the fight.

Let me know when it will work for your schedule and we will make it happen.

    Let's do this.

  • Comment removed

  • well then, I guess we should see a video of the great tman in the ring since that is where he shows his skills. Bet we wont have the honor of seeing that anytime soon either.

Nice try tman, you've got nothing, you know it, I know it, and everyone reading this knows it.

    whinning baby!

  • sounds like someone misses something...psychology 101. Just like when your girlfriend dumped you tman, I bet you whinned and cryed to her too...

  • Comment removed

  • And tman, the world is catching on to the 3 or 4 whiners like you out there. Let's see some video of YOU.

To everyone else, don't hold your breathe. tman, knows nothing, has no skills and loves to fire off these hate filled comments behind the cloke of anonymity.

tman, LETS SEE A VIDEO OF YOU, SHOW SOMETHING

  • tman52972, is just a whinning little baby that comments with extreme hatred on any and every OYD video he sees. There are still a few of these haters out there.

Tman, please enlighten us, where did you gain thisknowledge the JCK sucks? where do you train? were you a OYD or CMQ student? How long?

Tman, maybe your right, JCK sucks are a martial artist. Anytime you are ready, please post a video of you great skills, lets see. I can't wait.

  • Talk all you want but remember martial arts is not about talking its about doing. Your mouth works, what about your body? Show us something better and maybe we'll acknowledge you have any idea what proper martial arts training should be.

  • Comment removed

  • Does anyone else see the irony here? What makes a great teacher? Knowledge, Experience, Skill, Respect, Compassion, Strength, etc, etc.

Hmmm, wonder were those traits were obtained?

He is a great teacher and learned from his great teacher Grandmaster John C. Kim and that is the facts.

  • When is Jerry going to dump John C. Kim and the Chung Moo /Oom yung cult and move on? He could have made a great teacher had it not been for Kim sucking out his soul.
