  • zhugeliang's story is one of sadness. He followed a terribly incompetent lord in LuBei for a very miserable ending working his whole life without rest.

  • I admire Zhuge Liang so much, would love to build a time machine and go back and see the real Zhuge Liang. I really hope he wouldn't disappoint me ><

  • @amaya1334 I think, friend, that all mythical heroes would disappoint us. Yet we can enjoy our dream of this idealized Zhuge Liang and still draw from him a well of inspiration and admiration.

This song gets me through bad days... =)

  • well i would like to know how he looked in real life...no actors... XD

  • Wait, in the song, why do they call him pheonix, I thought he was known as the sleeping dragon. Pang Tong was the pheonix.

  • @ukno918 He's the sleeping dragon. In the song, he actually got compared to both phoenix and dragon. At 1:57, he was compared to dragon but there was an error in subtitle which still used phoenix.

  • What comes to mind when I think of Zhuge Liang is a mysterious man, he acts compassionately to his followers, yet imposes military discipline threateningly but not for an all threat purpose neccesarily (Like that time he allowed Guan Yu to live despite letting Cao Cao escape, his purpose was to 1. establish the 3 kingdoms, 2. let Guan Yu repay his debt to Cao Cao). He's ingenious but leads a harsh life, he always takes the difficult path, his love for others is comparable to Liu Bei.

  • @ukno918 That even ( guan yu letting Cao Cao go) is likely fiction as other things involving him

  • TANG GUO QIANG is the best Zhuge XD

  • @CaelahBethyBear Correction: he ACTS like a fucking gay pussy too

  • well he is the best Zhuge on the movie scene..

  • HOW MANY EPIC ROLES CAN TANG GUO QIANG PLAY

hes like the chinese historical ian mckellen

  • The same guy who play mao zidong in some movie...bONUS FACT

  • @CaelahBethyBear

This song is called Wolong Yin = Song of Zhuge Liang -description his attitude to re-store Han

you can download MP3 by search in google for example the link below wolong.mp3

this is one of the classic song in San Guo Yan Yi TV serie version 1994

  • Any chance the lyrics- pinyin or characters could be posted?

  • that's a sick hand-held fan

  • This kind of music sends chills up my spine... in a good way.

  • The actor of this Zhuge Liang is perfect. He has that witty look when he was playing the young one, but had a sad and lonely look when Liu Bei, Guan Yu,, Zhang Fei etc.. all passed away with him left alone to fight Wei.

  • @ppshchik

In my opinion Tang guo qiang was learning a lot to take the role of Zhuge Liang. Beside when he was young he also took many of soldier roles in the war story of films ,so that was profit experience for him to have the well understanding the role of Zhuge Liang and base on the role attitude and reaction with very superb performance. this actor's characteristic and mannerisms very worth the performance as the man who have the long time fighting to restore Shu Han name "Zhuge Liang"

  • Fantastic....love this song!

  • You're all gonna hate me but Guo Jia > Zhuge Liang lol

    Okay, bye...

  • i bet it was hard for Zhuge Liang to leave his home...

  • agreed, tang guo qiang is the best ZGL ever

  • It really should say Dragon...

  • 1.56 dragon not phoenix

  • Fake Zhugeliang( Takeshi) go away you pussy cat. The real Zhugeliang is only Tang Guoqiang. I strongly confirmed.

  • @Fenderok123

    That's when Tang isn't being Mao :P.

  • Yes, no one can deny Zhuge Liang's talent. But what I admire Zhuge Liang is not his superhuman strategy. It is said that devote himself to his master until the death : "I can no longer lead the army to punish the traitor. Oh the mysterious and cruel Heaven, when does this resentment can be appeased ?". Who Chinese Prime Minister, a Confucian scholar had the battle-death as Zhuge Liang?

  • Lol great people of history usually gets hated or admired. I respect and admire Zhuge Liang. His existence in the three kingdoms actually had drastic importance in the warfare and people of that era. Everyone in China in the three Kingdom era respected his talent. Koming the sleeping dragon shall left his mark in chinese history.

  • @Havoc9Heaven: Yes, no one can deny Zhuge Liang's talent. But what I admire Zhuge Liang is not his superhuman strategy. It is said that devote himself to his master until the death : "I can no longer lead the army to punish the traitor. Oh the mysterious and cruel Heaven, when does this resentment can be appeased ?". • sima yi sucks the reason he won is because i zhuge liamg sickness if zhuge liang have better health i am sure he won thats why it caused the northern 8 expedition sima yi cant compare zhuge liang thats why in historical view people see sima yi respect zhuge liang because his art war unpredictable and force sima yi force of change strategy in historical and historian point of view that they comment

  • @kungfudavid If you're talking novel, then fair enough. Though the novel made out Sima Yi to be second only to Zhuge Liang. He could easily beat everybody else.

If you're talking history though, neither Zhuge Liang nor Sima Yi were that good at command. Zhuge Liang was good at politics, military administration, diplomacy and overall strategy. But he couldn't lead an army well. He was too conservative and indecisive.

  • actually i perfered sima yi cunning tricks against zhuge liang but i admire zhuge liang as well ..

  • afühl mich irgendwie allein..:( will einer mit mir schreiben hab auch bilder und so

  • Tang Guo Qiang is the best Zhuge Liang ever.

Agreed John Woo's RED CLIFF have such a terrible screenplay.

  • what a touching song....

  • Zhang liang is wiser then most ppl in my views, he left when lui has the control instead of overstaying. in that era, look at xiao he and han xin fate. in qing, look at the general whom help yong zheng

  • I love Zhuge Liang's theme in this show, with the words and without that are played throughout the series, so much so that I learned how to play it on piano.

  • Wow, this is the first Zhuge Liang tribute video that I've come across where people mostly saying negative things about him...

If you're not a fan, maybe you shouldn't look for and watch this video in the first place...?

  • Fantastic Art of Acting

Especailly I like Tang Guo Qiang's performance as Kongming, he performed very active character and such a mature Zhuge Liang strategist, the image of politicians while he is a tragic figure.

  • nah.. when it comes to military advisor.. advisor of state.. no one in all of earth's history can compare to Zhuge Liang.. in my personal opinion.. this man has the intelligence to help you run your whole entire country.. and there is not a single treacherous thought in his mind of coup de tat.. remember he back his son too.. and his son was stupid.. he could took the throne.. if he wanted. he wasnt just a great advisor.. but was also a life long loyal friend.. find me one person in comparison

  • Comment removed

  • only one close I can think of is Zhou Yu

  • In the actual history, kongming is more of a statesmen rather then a military adviser.

Running of a country, yes, war, no.

read shi ji,san guo zhi etc if u want the real history ^^

  • My Idol

  • General Erwin Rommel was also quite good.

  • I'm just wondering why my comment about Zhang Liang is depreciated so fiercely?

I think Zhuge Liang's the best, but I don't mean that there weren't other great men in history.

    Many anti-Zhang Liang guys here?

  • Fiercely? That is fiercely? You must be new to the Internet, lol.

  • I'm an internet veteran.

  • Oh, sorry, sir. My most humble apologies.

  • Never mind.

  • ZhuGeLiang is the most loyal military advisor in China ever in World. No one can overtake his position. His loyalty are most of the highest of the world

  • Testify

  • loyalty, maybe. but he wasn't the best advisor for sure

  • Not only in China, Zhuge Liang is the most intelligent military advisor in the world ever.

  • who?

  • and don't say Sima Yi because compaird to Kongming Sima Yi was a dumb ass

  • I like this song.

  • Chinese lyrics like poetry when translate to English lost all it's impact style and thythm.. If anyone wish to truly feel the passion buried deeply within these words then start learning Chinese :)

  • it's like English books translated in Chinese are always worse than the original. that's the way it is

  • So sad he never returned to his home.

  • didn't he die from sickness at Wu Zhang Plains?

  • I forget too about the Kingdoms, but I just wanted to point out that though Zhuge Liang was wise strategist, yet when you compare the creator of the Arts of War, I find it you are overpraising him.

  • Comment removed

  • I think people really need to get over these pointless comparisons between Zhuge Liang and Sun Tzu and others.

More people love Zhuge Liang as a person and he is more of a household name - some of you just need to face the truth and get over it...

  • So you are saying Sun Tzu wasn't? After he founded the kingdom of wei?

  • Zhuge Liang is the symbol of intelligence, and no-one else in Chinese History has this title.

I quoted you, and yes maybe I was wrong to compare him with these people : Lao Tzu, Confucius, and Mencius. However, you cannot compare him to Sun Tzu.

  • @rinwhr he MIGHT actualli be more talented than Sun Tzu.. because everything Sun Tzu knew was handed to him through his family.. he just happen to use his gifts to a significant degree.. Zhuge Liang was just a simple farmer.. but we will never know the real answer.. so long ago

  • @shw1ft

    a simple farmer? lol

zhuge liang was "士" (The "士" was a noble class. it means educated ppl, well, sort of. Zhuge didn't make his living by farming. he did it for fun actually as many other "士" did. dont ask why, probably culture differences)

  • @rinwhr why is Sun Tzu so great? what concepts mentioned in Sun Zu'z art of war were radical in comparision to sima art of war or tai gong art of war which zhang liang used to establish the han dynasty

  • You do realize you are comparing the first teacher ( it's a term in case you don't know ) with Zhuge Liang right? And no, from what I remembered, Taoism was more accepted in China over Confucianism

  • No...I've seen more Confucius temples than Zhuge Liang's. I am not in the opinion of saying Zhuge Liang isn't "great", but when you are comparing him with the people I've listed, I just have to contradict.

  • I agree with jimlu

It's possible for a Chinese person to not know who Guan Zhong or Xiao He is, but very unlikely would they not know the name "Zhuge Liang".

Zhuge Liang is the symbol of intelligence, and no-one else in Chinese History has this title.

  • Lao tzu, Sun tzu, Confucius, and Mencius

  • It's sad how he never returned...

  • is rotk famous and wad is the specific name of this song?

  • Yes, RotK is very famous, and this song is called "Wolong Ying"

  • A toast to The Sleeping Dragon

  • ........It's Zhuge Liang's Father-in-law

    Huang Yue Ying's father....

  • i love 1:00 where it looks like he schoolin his freinds

  • Nice! I really love this song...

  • I hate John Woo's new movie...

  • me too~

he is selling those images for himself//

  • Oh please don't get me started on John Woo's "Red Cliff"... Keshi Kaneshiro doesn't look like Zhuge Liang, he looks like a fucking gay pussy.

  • i agree, its like comparing a sabertooth to a tiger.

it was a different time peroid and zhuge liang read alot from sun tze, im sure zhuge saw himself more as a follwer than a challenger to sun tze

  • that's why they're called actors...

  • totally agree john woo dont know jack shit about chinese histroy he's a fucking hollywood want to be... red cliff suck shit, i can only see those idol worshippers and ignorant(lack of chinese historical knowledge) will enjoy it as a action film... 3 kingdoms is more than just actions its everything

  • Did you kno John Woo has actually stated upfront in an interview that he was gonna make Red Cliff as historically accurate as possible? He even said that he will NOT use elements from Romance of the Three Kingdoms in support of that, which is funny, cuz I remember Zhuge Liang borrowed the 100,000 arrows in the film.

There is nothing wrong with creating a fictional story based loosely in history, but if John Woo is going to do so then he should at least grow a dick and be honest with it.

  • @FOXOF123 Did you perhaps watched the American cut version? From what I heard they turned it into another 300 flick with nothing but bloodshed.

  • @jaerirob644

I wouldn't say he's a gay pussy. Maybe he just doesn't look tired and beat up enough.

  • he would probably ignore it because it's so silly

  • Aww... :(

  • Zhuge Liang was really the ultimate sad destiny during the Three Kingdoms, he fate was doomed to one of stress, sorrow, and loneliness. While Jiang Wei willing chose to be a general (and basically became an extended life of Zhuge Liang), Zhuge Liang simply gave up his life of freedom to Liu Bei's dream. If Liu Bei's son was half as competitent as Cao Pi (cao cao's son), neither Zhuge Liang or Jiang Wei would have such tragic fates.

  • Even if Sun Tzu were the leader, he would have trouble co-opting with that mad man

  • Which madman?

  • Liu chan

  • Kong Ming never displays any real passion. That really annoys me. Is he human?

  • lol, yea, he's human. He was really happy at times (such as when they won victories) and sometimes angry (when he hears of traitors and ill advice). But for the most part, he does not create drama because he really analyzes the situation and can come up with a solution quickly.

  • lol, yea quite obvious, my fav is Zhuge Liang. Zhou Yu in a way, can be considered jealous but Zhuge Liang himself said that Zhou Yu was only trying to preserve/strengthen his state (Wu)when he was trying to kill Zhuge Liang all those times.

  • I think 'never display any real passion' may not be the most accurate description of Zhuge Liang. He was simply very focused in his ordeals and his goals that it may SEEM he's cold.

Zhuge Liang is an incomparable statesman - a truly timeless role-model for all of us.

  • Yes you are on the right track, but I think you are explaining in incorrect way. He was simply doing his job, but most people aren't like that and they think he is cold. George Bush ( not saying he is a great president ) is doing his job and a lot of people make fun of him a lot.

  • What is the purpose of the current Iraqi war?

  • Comment removed

  • I think we also need to take into account the fact that Zhuge Liang was a Chancellor (or Prime Minister).

He therefore obviously had adequate access to food, water, medical treatments etc. whereas the average chinese people back then probably did not.

Compare how long Zhuge Liang lived to Cao Cao (65), Liu Bei (62) and Sun Quan (70) and you'll see that he really did die young.

  • i have the song on a mp3 file, is there a specific name for the song??

  • could you where did you got it? I've been looking for a while, but never found it.

  • I made it

  • Its on the Romance of the Three Kingdoms series DVD ^^

  • I found the mp3 online...you can pm me your e-mail and I can e-mail it to you or something. :P

  • this beats the one with the clips. Thanks for upload.

  • I love it too much

  • I think ROTK is the best Chinese historical TV series from China...it uses the classical language and style from the novel.

The modern Han Wu Di is just modern Chinese with no classical style...

There is another Chinese series about the Liao-Song dynasty wars and also Kangxi DaDi are pretty good tho from mid 90's.

  • what is this series called and where do you think i can buy it?

    it looks really cool :)

  • ebay dot com should find ROTK romance of the three kingdoms

  • ohh ok thx

  • Comment removed

  • i think sum1 already posted this.. but i dnt know who and when. oh well zhuge liang rocks its a pity that he died in a young age..53yrs old...:(
