  • hes playing licks similar to greg howes signature fusion licks.he aint doin it as well though.

  • hes playing licks similar to greg howes signature fusion licks

  • holy shit hes on a 6 string, he wont even consider anything with less than 8 now haha

  • hi my names greg harrison and i rip-off of dimebag darrell

  • @Cadrin1111larock hi i'm an arrgoent youtube commenter and i will say something that proves im a clueless idiot that does not understand that music is ALL about taking something from someone else.

  • Hä??? an ML with a jackson headstock??? what the hell??

  • @givemeajackson its a custom ml made by a guy named lance who runs the Guitar Craft Academy at musicians institute, but dimebag also had a jackson ML if you watch Primal concrete sledge live in moscow 91'

  • good licks ideas

  • how do i get a guitar like that

  • @kidtrigger11 pay like $4000 and have lance from musicians institute build one, thats what greg did

  • He reminds me of Gerad Butler from 300...eat hearty... For tonight, we dine in hell!

  • i took two shred metal seminars with this guy when he has his 8 string schecter...holy crap....shit just got real XD

  • "I'm plucking that" too ;)

  • this guy looks a bit like mick from slipknot

  • You can see in his face that he regrets saying 'notage'

  • these licks are tough to get up to speed!

  • So, this guy is getting a video upload because he uses chicken pickin' to play things that most people can play with either sweep picking, alternate picking, or string skipping? Useless video. The ONLY difference between what he's doing and what you can do with just a pick is the tonal difference you get when you use a finger on a string as opposed to the pick.

  • @timijai22 yeah i get what your saying, but thats like saying that you can play everything flamenco with a pick and im sorry but that tone difference is crucial. Another way of putting it is like this. Imagine your a painter and you paint with a 16 different colors yeah youll have red, blue and green and such but what if you want blue-green or magenta? Those are nice colors too. Its nice to mix up your tone for different things and it can make passages a lot more expressive at times.

  • the beginning is mad nice lol

  • What a bunch of fucking useless bullshit... Thanks for nothing, Guitar World, or should we start calling you Shred Humper Monthly?

  • Digging that guitar!

  • I think thats a Jackson, the headstock looks exactly like my Warrior's headstock. But it could be a custom one.

  • @Stupified992 MI has a guitar craft program, it's very possible he built it himself.

  • @Stupified992 It was built by Lance Alonzo, he's the head of the Guitar Craft Academy at MI. If you Google "Lance Alonzo Guitar" you'll find him. Greg was actually my private lesson teacher through most of GIT. Helluva nice guy and monster player.

  • cool player i think,,,,,,,

  • To those who mistaken it as being a Washburn, it obviously is not. It's a custom guitar made for him by a great Luthier. Dimebag has played a guitar exactly like this and you can see it in the Primal Concrete Sledge music video live in Moscow for Monsters Of Rock during their Cowboys From Hell Tour. It's definately not Dean nor a Washburn. Greg did not take the neck off because he would be out of his mind to do so. Great lesson though!

  • @AndrewX66 yeah you are right man ! i was confused , but i knew i had seen dimebag playing it live! lml

  • wow... his strings are so unrusty

  • @leopower7 strings should be changed often....

  • I read the title of this as "George Harrison Guitar Lesson' hahahahaha. I very much enjoyed this lesson... hybrid picking is something that I've always had a hard time with, and this is another thing for me to work on whilst practicing!

  • Or you cant just use the pick and learn how to alt pick -.-

  • @vbdude006 He can alternate pick better than you can breathe.. trust me, I see it every day. He's just showing people a technique so they can try and keep up with him.. And that's not a joke, he's ridiculously good.

  • @vbdude006 and i suppose that your better than him.

  • @johnnysitarphillips Did I say that I did, no I didn't. So shut up and read my post

  • @vbdude006 ...there are more picking techniques than alt picking...hybrid picking is used to get a much more legato sound

  • that was actually impressive.

  • that's probably his ow guitar he made, it doesn't have a brand name on the headstock O.o

  • @BUFFW its a washburn im pretty sure ,he maybe took off the name for some reason, but i have seen videos of dimebag using that guitar live.

  • @MetalyourMom It aint no washburn dude. The headstock is totally different to the ones dime used. Those are the dime series wahsburns which where almost exact copies of the Dean ML. But he did have one guitar exactly like this with the headstock the same and body in the very early 90's..Or this could just be a custom guitar with custom parts.

  • @gh3rckl3gend A guy that did the Guitar Craft program at MI made it for him because he's a big Dimebag fan. It's a completely custom built guitar.

  • @MetalyourMom or its a custom built guitar by a talented luthier.

  • notage?...really?

  • this is SO easy

you dont need that finger tbh...

  • This guy has some impressive skills!

  • "neh" 1:32

  • SERIOUS NOTAGE

  • Cool man I am going try to use this in one of my songs. Thanks!

  • Why would you bar the notes? It sounds better when you just finger the notes and it is a lot more fun to play.

    Nice guitar btw...

  • @Ghostman7777 Because he's better than you.

  • @OneTimer1127

Yeah stfu, scrub. Learn to play the guitar before you comment.

Not saying this guy sucks, I am just wondering why he would go the pussy route when he clearly has the know-how to play the right way. Barring the notes is completely unnecessary in this kind of lick.

  • @Ghostman7777 It's probably just the way he learned to play. Changing his technique now just really wouldn't make a whole lot of sense, ya know?

  • wow... that was some serious notage 0_0

  • Is that a Ran custom guitar?

  • ''So we can get some serious notage happening'' wtf?

  • That Axe is Sick!!!

  • Did he just say notage?

  • is there a level of playing that you have to be on to apply for MI

  • This is a cool lesson. Hybrid picking fascinates me, but could you have Greg turn his tone knob down a bit? The treble is painful to listen to.

  • awesome

  • they should replace adrian english with this guy

  • 'Serious notage'.

    Wut.

  • is that a dean guitar?

  • @treblaselaw I doubt it - that's more of a Jackson or ESP-shaped headstock. I'd guess it's a custom.

  • @treblaselaw Seems to be more like a home made guitar then a dean

  • Who else read this as George Harrison? haha

  • @guitarskater11 ha, i did

  • @guitarskater11 i did too hahaha

  • @guitarskater11 well jackasses read this as George Harrison that's for sure! LOL!

  • nice sound :P
