I just heard The Jayhawks for the first time on Sound Opinions. They have a sound that reminds me of Billy Cowsill's band The Blue Shadows. I'm not sure how I missed them the first time around, but I'm happy that I ran across them.
16,000 views, and any random justin beiber vid has 10 mill. views, this is whats wrong in the world. parents and older people are not doing a good e-nuff job bringing kids up. this.... this is real fucking music, it just makes me so sad that music that is mainstream is so damn awful.
Jeff Buckley, The Jayhawks, and Radiohead turned music on their heads. I only hope that the Jayhawks get the following they richly deserve. I put them up with some of the greatest songwriters, singers, harmonizer, teachers, EVER to make music.
