  • oooooh, LOVE that Rickenbacker! ^_^

  • Friggin' Brilliant!!!!!!

  • Quite a track.

  • My God. The power.

  • I live in a God-forsaken part of the world where nobody but me EVER knows who XTC is. They are more beautiful to me than any other art form on this earth.

  • More gorgeous than blue diamonds, XTC.

  • you look up..you look up.. you look up.. you look up.. (always loved that little voice they add in the back ground)

  • Best night time road music album

  • What a powerful song. This was from an album that slipped past me and I caught up with it two years after it's release. It is one of my 'special' albums and one that slipped out under the radar. Nearly every song is special here, cutting lyrics, wonderful songs, superb arrangements, well engineered/produced and bears up to many a repeated hearing.

One should listen to 'Human Alchemy' after this.

  • Incredible, just amazing, God I love this song, made my day, week, month, year this video...

  • Its a great song, I think I'll try playing the singing through guitar since I'm funny like that. Oh and its rare to see Colin wearing sunglasses.

  • Dave Gregory was the man back then. He even knew the opening chord to "A Hard Day's Night".

  • XTC is the most underrated band of all time. Pure genius. Did they ever record a bad song? I don't think so.

  • Brilliant!

  • forgot how coolthis song is! Thanks,bro...

  • I have never seen this video in all these years. Thank you Youtube. So I guess Dave was playing call and response with himself on the keys and guitar. You can always learn something new. I love XTC. Oh how I wish, somehow, someway, they could contrive to play again. So we could see them and revel in our own joy at the sound of drums and wires in the air again. Well, one can dream. Can't they?

  • @iamguitarmutt It may yet still be possible, as Colin has started playing again (look on the XTC Back Porch Forum) and David and Andy are still involved in the music industry. If XTC ever did reform, it would probably be Partridge/Moulding/D. Gregory/I. Gregory but I'm not sure if they would tour. Maybe Andy would be ok with a brief/small tour as he's older now but even a new studio album would be fantastic!

  • ahhh Mummer...I keep forgetting about that album but there's no filler - every song's brilliant!

  • Can't believe there was actually a video for this song...

Great track, just a bit obscure !

  • yes, what a great song! always loved it since release.

    nice video too, thanks:

    wordofgord

  • This is one of my favorite XTC songs, along with I Am the Audience.

  • I have this feeling Mummer is one grower of an album for XTC

  • i LOVE XTC gave the song 5 stars before it hardly started my favorite album is always the most recent one that ive gotten their all great not good but GREAT

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

  • I love the shots of Dave. He's just an interesting looking guy, especially at 3:00. Hehe.

  • Never seen this video in my life. I'm a fan of Xtc since I was 10. Thaks!

  • One of the most under rated bands ever. I recall getting into them in the late 70's. Their music was fun, smart, and energetic.

Andy Partridge is truly one of the great pop poets.

  • fuck me they were stunning.what's going on nowadays?i'm not even that old(31)and i feel like a grumpy old git.kids today with their music!

  • I really miss Andy Patridge and Colin Moulding's song writing. One of the best bands I ever heard. Great video.

  • More influence of arab music should be appreciated,as so much rock and (especially) electro-disco-pop comes from there. Of course XTC , as always, merge concept with music to perfection. Timeless exponents of high octane quality pop (ular) music they are.

  • Never too late ... Ordered |Mummer| from CDon yesterday.

XTC are the most underrated band ever!

  • Louder than thoughts of dictators

  • Unfortunately, it is hard to drown the horrors of the world today ( GW, Bushies, Neo-Cons, Etc.). It is also a mistake to ignore them.

XTC is good for a break though!

  • Creating is a good, very good, way to go.

  • Thank God that nightmare is over with, eh. Hopefully Obama will heed the will of the people and prosecute the criminals prior!!!!!

  • Obama, Bush, Clinton... it is like the golden cow. Diff is it won't be dismantled

  • You're kidding, right? Obama is one of the criminals. I mean this respectfully.

  • Peter Gabriel refer's to them as Britain's best export.

    Pretty nice mention there.

  • Possibly THE best anti war song ever....

  • Either this, or "This World Over"....

TBE is a great album as well.

  • George Harrison inspired art

  • this video is great.

  • Mummer is a great, underrated album

  • I agree on Mummer. It has some of my favorite XTC tunes on it.

  • Even the bonus tracks are fantastic, experimentations like frost circus are great!

  • haha yea, Frost Circus is awesome. I'll repeat that track for the whole work day if I need to concentrate on a project.

  • A great song from a great album!

  • bestest pop band ever !!

  • I love them dearly but they're the 2nd best pop band ever.

  • wow, thanks again, 23daves... i didn't like this song when i first heard it, many years ago, but, like the rest of that genuis album, i love it.

  • wow thanks i have the lp with this song! Mummer..so great, me and the wind is also fantastic...kinda opposite

  • I never knew there was a video for this, thank you!

  • This song is genius.

  • This is the first song of XTC that I listened to.

  • Cool, not seen this in years.
