  • Love this song and this version!!!! And the solo is just beautiful!!!!!!

  • I love the solo to this song.

  • I love this song

i always have a smile when i listen to it lol good on you john you genious

  • Does anyone has his performance of Come Back To Bed of that same day ? I NEED it.

  • 1 of my favorite Mayer songs. It's his lyrical talent that has always made me a fan. Just has a very poignant and unique way of expressing things that strike common chords in so many people. A true talent regardless of what you think of the guy outside of music.

  • This song is amazing, but Justin Timberlake ruined all of John Mayer's live performances by bringing to my attention the facial contortions...

  • 3:46 wtf?

  • ah he has vocal pollyps now:( hopefully hell still be able to sing

  • that presenter is so hot

  • "You can't love too much one part of it."

  • john mayer changed my life

  • It's cool not to like John Mayer. As funny as he is, he does seem like a huge douche. But his talent, damn. If I'm anywhere near as talented as he is now some day I will feel like a fucking boss.

  • @Aeileo How many times do we have to hear that he's a jerk/douchebag. Stfu, you don't even know him personally. It's getting so old and annoying. Keep your small-minded opinion to yourself and just talk about the music here.

  • @xARMANAA I dunno how many times do you have to hear it? Again, if you don't like it, ignore it. Secondly, this isn't just stuff from tv. Have you ever seen him live? It'd be awesome if he'd just play and stop an hour long banter (and 4 covers) . So if you're gonna talk about talking music. Talk music. Don't come to me with your anger :P

  • @Aeileo your an idiot. stop hating

  • @musicue106 Really that's it? You guys need to start reading.

  • "it's just a "season" thing.. it's just this thing the seasons do.."

  • he used to give my cousin guitar lessons in about 1995-1998 and then he really started touring and producing awesome tunes :)

  • Pathetic that this only has 74,000 views

  • @Aeileo... you're a jerk

  • @JDomineyPercussion and honest one

  • @Aeileo i'm honest to...go away...please..

  • @4u2 why don't you?

  • @Aeileo because i love john mayer...and your not..

    its not that difficult...beat it...idiot...

  • @4u2 Name calling is just sad (especially when it's weak like that.) . Secondly, I'm very aware that I'm not John Mayer. I just don't like his attitude anymore. He wasn't so bad when he started. But he lost everything that made him unique. Sure he's talented and Room for Squares and Heavier Things is up there in my favorites. But he's a jerk. If you can't distinguish the difference of me disliking the person from the music then you're either 12 yr old girl, a child, or just irrational. Good luck

  • @Aeileo you are like a virus...go spam somebody else..

  • @4u2 I'm not sure how that made any sense. Or why (if you dislike my comment so much) you just haven't ignored me.

  • Great song....then he became a jerk

  • @Aeileo queer.

  • @alleyybeannxo 12 yr old girl

  • hahah when he is in the backround at he start, lost my shit hahaha

  • Interrupting his solo with bubbles? 3:43.

  • You know that John would only have to look at one of these girls while he was playing this and he'd score that night.

    *Seething envy*

  • really one of my favorites

  • john mayer comes out of the host's left shoulder at 0:13. He's just so damn awesome! love that guy!

  • if you noticed, not many people covered this song.. because you need a thumb like his... or else it's impossible to cover it.. genuinely..

  • @adamlikescereal it's not hard to use your thumb to play at all

  • @GoingCamando20 on this song it is

  • @Groogns a little bit but i can do it

  • Comment removed

  • And in the end the love you make is equal to the love you take--The Beatles, Abbey Road

  • "I believe that my life's gonna see,the love I give,return to me." ♥ Most definitely ♥

  • Haha the top 2 highest rated comments on this vid go together like a perfect sentence.

  • anyone notice he came in late, after the cymbals? but great song!

  • I GET POON TANG HEAPS WHEN I PLAY THIS SONG WITH TEH LADIES

  • I've been a Mayer superfan since the beginning, and only he could still move me after all that time with the same great songs.

  • Air...pones???

  • he's amazazing

  • i had constant goose bump when he starts singing..

and that woman at the beginning looks like iJustine (YouTuber)

  • god damn that chorus is good

  • Heavier Things is by far the best album of John Mayer!

  • I love to turn on Heavier Things and just really enjoy every aspect of it. It's enjoyable from beginning to end. It's the sort of album that makes you find solace in the fact that it's a rainy monday, rather than hurt. I don't get that same feeling from Battle Studies.

  • Perfect

  • Could this song be any more perfect?

  • @adamsimonsmusic No it is just amazing.

  • @adamsimonsmusic Chandler?

  • hes so cute!!!

  • one thing to say. john mayer is absolutely amazing, period.

anyone notice him waving while she's introducing him???

look to the left of her at :13 secs, you can see him being stupid...

    yet once the lights fade...

  • i miss the old mayer, before the tabloids struck. i wonder if he ever looks back at these older videos and gets a sort of reality check from them.

  • people can think what they want but John Mayer has got to be the greatest guitarist ever hands down

  • Loving the thumb action at 2:11. I have never seen anyone else do it.

  • "You can't no you can't love too much one part of it."

  • @sulivex Actually, well said. I can't love too much one stage in JM's development as a person, celebrity or musician. Let's move it along.

  • Don't get me wrong, John Mayer is my favorite artist of all time, i have all his albums and everything. But he's definitely not the same guy he was when he first started out. Seemed more "innocent," i prefer that JM. But he is no doubt talented as hell.

  • @willraz I prefer the young JM too. I don't know if it is just he fact that he is now in his 30's. Granted he can't be that 22 year old kid again...but i just feel with his weight loss and toned body he's got all GQ. I feel like I don't know him anymore. Not that I ever did.

  • one of my favorites... I listen to this and think.. hey, this guy gets it.

  • I really love this song, great job John.

  • And if you never stop when you wave goodbye, you just might find when you give it time you might wave hello again... beautiful

  • most of johns earlier stuff is phenominal especially "Heavier things" and "Continuum", Battle studies is good, tho i do think somethings missing from it tho i cant put my finger on it..looking forward to the battle studies tour!

  • you know, i feel completley the same. I miss the younger, more relatable mayer.

  • @Ela1337 I totally agree with you.

  • is that his first guitar?

  • This is his SRV signature strat, so i gues it is acually, but who knows.

  • yeah i saw it was an SRV sig strat, that's what brought up the question in my mind! Pretty cool if it is :)

  • i don't think it is SRV sig strat...cause it hasn't gold plated hardware...or his signature at the headstock sry for my english

  • but isn't the bridge gold? maybe he changed the tuning heads since he's had it for yeeeears!

i dunno tbh, just my take on it :)

  • I'm a DMB guy but this song is just incredible.

  • "airports see it all the time"....incredible verse

  • what a cutie pie....miss the old john

  • legend

  • wow.......his older stuff is amazing, seriously. Why cant he make songs like this again?

  • wait till you hear the new CD... that is just about amazing...

  • @lpdrengen Battle Studies was not the same quality as the rest of John Mayer's material. He's amazing, but that album was a fluke. I'm looking forward to the redemption.

  • agreed. It was good. nowhere near as good. The lyrics were lacking

  • I disagree, it was different and it might take some adjusting to, but in my opinion Battle Studies was just as good as anyone of his old albums.

  • @Jimanjee21 You gotta be kidding my man....I think BattleStudies is truer to who he is...I feel like he used his earlier albums to elevate him to the status to where he could really let people know who he really is. Continuum and Battle Studies...I think that's the real John Mayer

  • I think you may be correct about Battle Studies lyrically. But musically Battle Studies is a lot more pop than continuum. And John is a blues guy at heart ;)

I'd say his playing was leaning in the right direction during Continuum.

  • @Gftdmuzician In his earlier albums, John wasn't concerned about elevating himself. This is a kid that stayed home from prom to play guitar in his room alone. He worked at a gas station and played guitar after hours. He's admitted that the person (and subsequently musician) that he was during Battle Studies isn't the true him. I don't think it's a lie, but I think it lacks John Mayer-esque things. Like decent and meaningful lyrics, musical creativeness, and chops.

  • @Jimanjee21 I almost feel like JM is on the "let's be a quadruple billionaire by 40 plan" with his 10 year contract with Sony. I wonder if he just needs to keep it crankin? Maybe he's sold his soul for 10 years. Almost like the parents he ridiculed in "No Such Thing". I do love him thou. Still I worry. He set the tone for me in "No Such Thing". Hope he hasn't sold his soul to the devil.

  • when was this recorded this year

  • This was recorded in 2003.

  • What is this song about?

  • LIFE.

  • love being a cycle of happiest and sadness, and how he's just a helpless minnow in the current of love...not ur ordinary love song

  • Does anyone know what effects He's using for this song?

  • None, its just clean.

  • It's just clean, but i think you can have abit delay on. But else it's just the fender doing it's job

  • He pushed a boss blues driver or something like that during the solo, you can see him look down, and hear the tone thicken a bit ;)

    But it's slight.

  • John Mayer shits out masterpiece after masterpiece.

  • @PrincessShittyBottom you sir, are correct

  • @PrincessShittyBottom thats one of the funny and truest things I ever heard!

  • @PrincessShittyBottom i shit out failure, =(

  • @PrincessShittyBottom fuckin LOL

  • @PrincessShittyBottom yup , gotta love his turds

  • he is a genius

  • damn he can play the guitar.

  • thailand luv u john

  • Seriously, John Mayer can go to hell. How he moves his thumb from the 10th to 13th fret so easily is beyond me...

    I envy him.

  • obviosly his guitar parts are not meant to played by humans lol

its always strange chords and amazing blues solos

  • Haha well he does say he spent eight years alone playing guitar in his room all day - it's no wonder his playing is at such a level.

  • hahahha the guy at 3:47 is like "wtf bubbles!!"

  • LMAO Yeah

  • Did anyone else see john mayer waving like a fan at 0:13 LOL

  • haahahha !!

  • didnt originally

but checked again and then did

    haha thats funny

  • you mean the beginning from 0:13 to 0:18 , right?

  • please die!

  • great guitar!!~ ^_^

    Very comfortable style!~

  • not if you have big hands. if you have bigger hands, its no problem, like i do. like the song "neon" it's got one of those chords too, but i can reach it as well. just work at it, you'll get.

  • In the second chord in the verses, it's so freaking hard to reach your thumb to the 13th fret like he does. I much prefer to just do that F with my pinky.

  • i love how he writes songs about things that are so easy to relate too. its like hes but a mirror in each song so we can say oh wow that was me 6 months ago. its very rare that an artist produces those kind of lyrics with a music style that is unique to main stream. John is awesome!!!

  • I preach this EXACT thing over and over. VERY well said! I don't know why some people can't get a grasp on this.

  • He obviously knows a Lot about music.

  • John Mayer looks like Frodo Baggins with a guitar.

  • one of the funniest comments i've ever seen on YouTube. LOL.

  • He always looks like he's constipated when he performs.

  • yeh lol but hes good

  • Yeah,

Even I can't deny, he's really, really, really good. In fact, he inspires me to play better.

  • great performance. - - this was in 2003?.. when did he first come out?

  • yes someone finally uploaded this performance!!!

P.S. you are a god (both mayer and Bysler)

  • Hey guys!! Ifi you like John and youre bored, give my music a listen just search: desmond myers on youtube (watch home from nowhere an inside look!!!)

This is my favorite John Mayer song right now.

    Thanks!!!

  • Smooth, great live performance, super!

    Love&Peace

    Blueka Acoustic Promotions

  • heh heh, repost, but i just noticed that there are no guys , other than the band, in this video..at all...well except if you count that very gay guy lip syncing at 6:17. just wait, youll see! good stuff!

  • haha i saw another guy earlier with a mohawk :D haha

  • lol, i think it's better that there'is no guys, so it means i'm not gay for playing his music...XD

  • lol, yea i love mayer, but i would never go to one of his concerts. maybe at acl

  • yea same i dont like all the female fans that go to his concerts cause they think hes "cute"

  • in my top 5 for sure!
