1 of my favorite Mayer songs. It's his lyrical talent that has always made me a fan. Just has a very poignant and unique way of expressing things that strike common chords in so many people. A true talent regardless of what you think of the guy outside of music.

I'd say his playing was leaning in the right direction during Continuum.

@Gftdmuzician In his earlier albums, John wasn't concerned about elevating himself. This is a kid that stayed home from prom to play guitar in his room alone. He worked at a gas station and played guitar after hours. He's admitted that the person (and subsequently musician) that he was during Battle Studies isn't the true him. I don't think it's a lie, but I think it lacks John Mayer-esque things. Like decent and meaningful lyrics, musical creativeness, and chops.
