@SetanNNNN there is no need to change bulbs for snakes but it is maybe a good idea if you were breeding to regulate the temps for day and night times and summer, winter times........but in all honesty these 2 kids arent really the people to be askin lmao cos they have no idea what they are talkin about.......for instance i keep birds in a cage not reptiles.......

If your going with a tank a minimum would be a 40 gallon breeder but if you have access to acrylic and pvcx cages then you won't really be able to decorate a whole lot but i use 4'x2'x12" (lxwxh) or 4x2x16" and my guys are around 7ft hope this helps and you enjoy your jcp.
i defintly would go with heat from above...Morelia spilota cheynei ist most aboricol living sub-species of the Morelia Spilota´s...so they spend most of there time in trees...also they like to bask in the light...so a heatmat would make no sense
yea im from aussie and own 24 snakes and 7 of them are jungle carpets . the best way to tame them is: to:once baught leave in the cage for 6months but only hold at feeding time they are easier to tame when they are older
JCPs dont need high humidity. They thrive at percentages as low as 30%. Misting JCPs is a myth that isnt true. If you absolutly need more humidity depending on the local area you live in, let half of the water bowl settle on the UTH.
they are native to jungle habitats and your saying they dont need humidity? Yes they do need humidity in order to shed well. if you have that humidity level you will get eyecaps, and stubborn scales. Even at 50 percent the shed wont be in one peice (sign of a bad shed)
you have a tough python, but that doesnt mean its easy for them to shed when its dry. Humidy moistens the skin making it easier to shed off, it can be painful especially around the eyes to shed with that low of humidity

no Im afraid not, you need to atleast be 4long 4high 2 deep. you need more length minimum and thats for a 5-6 JCP if you have a larger sized one (especially if its female) you should at a bit more.
@Snakess4life if your a dragon than i'm the dragon slayer 13itch!!
and if they bite you they do to penetrate the skin......and believe me i have 3 of them. and there isnt one snake that has just one color of eye, they all have at least 2 colors....
dont b nervous with ur snake man. They can sense stuff like that, and a python his size really wouldnt do much to you but maybe make a bleed a bit. My 5 foot boa has bitten me b4 and here mouth is huge. That wasnt even really to bad i didnt even need stiches. If u really like snakes u gotta relize ur gonna get bit eventually.
I have handled more big snakes than you can count you know what thats like rite oh no you don't you were to nervouse to handle them and I have had a ball python so don't say I don't have a snake and if you are going to call me a jackass don't hide behinde the computer)-:
thanks for the information about the temperatures and the humidity i just got me a jcp today and i f u watch the vids about my ball pythons u will see the big tank i have i am going to move it into there and get another tank like the one i have my female bp in i am putting my jcp in the 120 gal because i know they are semi aborial i will make a vid of him very soon
I have a 3 yr old ball python, and he has eyes w/ brown irises and black pupils. It's hard to spot the brown because it is quite dark. As for the pupils and don't know if they're round or vertical.
hey its the snake bros!!!haha, yeh i like these snakes alot, im not that experienced with snakes, put i have had a ball python strike me or snap at me a couple of times, so would this snake be ok for me?, im not a nervous handler at all and i love snakes.

u do no that ball's have black eyes and they only turn blue when their shedding. and boa's have eyes that make them look like they have no eye's. my brother owns a boa and a ball and i'm getting a jungle carpet in about a month.
lol It was bad because the place where VPI sent my blood to were afraid to even pick up the box because they thought it was way aggressive. Yeah I can handle all my snake's without having to worry about one of them biting. I handle them all like 3 time a day for almost an hour.
People say that some snake's like python's and boa's are aggresive but with alot of TLC they will be a docile as a baby. People where afraid to handle my blood but he has never bitten me yet. Lets keep it that way though lol. I'm not afraid if it happens though lol.

Nice setup! But Carpet pythons do also need pretty much ground space.
BoyBlueberry 2 years ago
not so much 4 jungles cause their 99% aboreal, but for a centralain or a coastal yeah floor space is important.

Hey Chris,
First of all you have a great collection of snakes and I enjoy all your videos.
I am looking a getting a JCP and I was just wondering what type of set up do you have in mind when he's fully grown.
I know from research that they are semi-aboreal but would a flat Viv, measuring 4ftx2ftx2ft be enough?
Cheers mate
charlesp1078 3 years ago
ya 4ft should be big enough im getting my room extended and then im going to have a cornr cage thats like 4-5 ft tall and like 2 ft wide
Snakess4life 3 years ago
