@Shoker1000x lol long story, short as i can, spartans (about 146 of them, 3 didnt go) went to reach planning for a mission to kidnap a prophet and force a truce, but covenant found out and attacked 1st, glassed reach, only 1 spartan escapes, and he goes on the pillar of autumn to the halo ring, u shuld get wat it is now, but the game will have sprtan III's so... tooooo long to explain that :P enough?

Really the main Halo Trilogy and the new games barring Halo Wars all take place within a Year. Halo Wars it self takes place maybe like 10 or 20 years in the begining of the war. Which explains why things look so different and the tech is that game not appearing in the more "recent" part of the Halo Trilogy and ODST and Reach. It's all outdated by then.

Even when halo wars the game was set, even then wasn't the major of halo 2 and halo 3 the boss at halo wars... So i think it was years before they were even born, or when they were a child...

(But the master chief freeze hisself, he could make maybe 200 years even when he is just 30 or something)

the battle of reach was in 2552 just weeks before the events of halo 1, and odst is just a month or 2 after the events of halo 1, and 1 of the vidocs says that 1 or more of the odsts from the game were involved in the battle of reach, buck and some more, coz he said he saw reach glassed and he didnt want to see that happen to earth. the first contact with the covenant was only 2525 so wats this 300 years stuff all about?

@K9RWilliam Actually Halo 1 and 2 happened around a week after each other because in the books they show the time in witch stuff happens. the reason is the chief and his living spartan buddys attack the covenent fleet before they can attack earth and kill hundreds of ships with a huge explosion. they then jump to earth the chief gets a new armor and DR. Halsey takes chiefs friends to take them on a mission leaving Chief to defend earth alone. Odst takes place a day after the beginning of Halo 2
